It's great to like someone for those reasons! It might not mean you like him romantically, but all relationships - romances and friendships - should be about how the person treats you and makes you feel. It can be tough to tell with a guy friend what's friendship and what is more than friendship (for both of you!) but getting jealous over you getting a different partner might be a sign, especially if your partner was another guy. Try to figure out if he pays more attention to what you say than his other friends and if he goes out of his way to spend time with you.

Try joining a club or an activity that you're interested in. You'll be able to meet people who have the same interests as you and it'll be a great way to start talking to people more. Like, if you pass them in the hall you can say "hey, do we have a meeting today?" and get a conversation started.

MOD Okay so i've liked this guy Jake for a while. I haven't told anyone and he wasn't in my classes last year and not in mine this year. We hadn't talked since like 5th grade (now im in 9th), but last week when i was taking pictures of the football players for yearbook this guy was like hey are you in 8th or 9th grade??? and Jake was sitting next to him and was like "Her name is (and said my name), she's in 9th grade, and goes to (Blank...his) Curch. Then I was all like "Thanks Jake! Smile" then i continued taking pictures and after like 2 min. 1/2 the football team was screaming "Katie Jake likes you!" I didn't know what to do so i just ignored it and continued taking pics. then i walked away (this took like 8ish min. and they were yelling it the whole time). DO you think he really does like me or were they just making fun of what he said? Oh and was that a bad reaction of mine (acting like i didn't hear them)? Thanks -KT

mod- every day at my high school i have p.e for my second period (and first my first class when i don't have a first period), and i have five minutes before and after class to get to the next before the bell. i am supposed to dress down for p.e and dress back up, but my classes are all over the place, so i don't know how to do this without being late! thanks!

 

Hey missy, instead of putting on a lot of clothing, play with accessories. Try headbands, necklaces, bracelets and brooches. That way, when it's time to change for your classes, all you have to do is throw on a tee shirt and jeans and slap a few bracelets on and a necklace. You'll still look cute, without looking like you were rushing.

my two friends (they're not really friends) both like the same guy. My one friend, X, is best friends with him and won't admit how much she really likes him (even though it's obvious it's a lot). My other friend, Z, really likes him and told him. He said he only likes z a little bit but x is worried it will grow. X is his bff and she's worried z will take her spot as his bff. I don't know what to tell x. She's really freaking out. And I'm upset z didn't tell me this. Frown help!




If X and this guy have a really good friendship (like if they're really best friends) then X has nothing to worry about. Z won't replace her is the guy really cares about her. He also told me he was single, then i got a call from his gf telling me to stay away from him. So i realized he was a lying jerk. But he lied to his gf and blamed me and sed i was the one flirting and stuff. Well on his myspace status he sounded really depressed. A couple of days ago i saw him and his girlfriend a million times but not together at all. It was at an event and i saw both of them but never together. And he never smiled once. He also kept staring at me. And he walked up right behind me but then turned around. Do you think they broke up? And what does the stareing and stuff mean? And btw i dont like him anymore i just want his gf or former gf to know the truth about him!

MOD, I started secondary school last year at the same time as my bff moved ot Australia so I was busy doing that. A lot of the girls knew eachother so I found it really hard to make friends. Eventually I moved classes but by that time everyone already had their friends so I'm always on my own and have no one to go round with. I've been friendly to people and haven't done anything to offend them. Last year in my languages class I got on well with a few girls but everyone has friends in their own class and now I don't see them at all so I can't take that any further. There was a new girl who came on mmy bus a couple of days after she joined and we talk and get on well there but on her first day someone else got to ask her to join them at break first.Now she has stuck with them all the time. I'm thinking about moving schools but I'm worried it wlll be worse and I'll regret it because all the friendships changed in my old class after I left. I don't want to be stressed and unhappy until something changes... should I move school????

 

You're doing the right thing by trying to branch out! Meeting people can be tough, especially when it seems like YOU alone and THEM. Be yourself, be social and outgoing and do the activities that interest you. You'll likely meet people who share the same hobbies as you, and you'll be able to have fun with these people without even trying!

This happened to me in fifth grade...all my friends got bf's and i was like the only one with out one. MODDDDD my dad always tells me and my sister off for the stupidest things. earlier i was being quiet at the dinner table because i was sidetracked about something and he got really pissed. also he yelled at me for some other thing that was dumb but too complicated and long to write here. he gets mad if i'm holding my guitar pick wrong and stuff like that. we also have to be really careful with what we say and how we act around him. if we're too loud he gets pissed and yells. if we're too quiet he yells. if i'm talking nonstop he gets mad. he gets mad for just about every little thing. he also talks to us like we're babies sometimes. if there's a fighting scene or a swear or something in a movie we watch, he'll be like, "you know fighting is bad, right? you never fight!" or when we got to a restaurant he always tells us to say thank you, even though we know that and do before he even gets the chance to say it, and if we say it too softly he tells us to speak a little frickin louder. he's just so hypocritical and i can't deal with it anymore!! what am i supposed to do?!?!?!?!

 

Hey girlie! Dads can be pretty tough to understand sometimes. Try talking to him and asking him whats going on. Don't be too judgemental or accusatory. Just approach him like you're trying to understand all the yelling. If you would rather not do that, just carry on in any normal way and try not to let it get to you!

I was just told by the doc that i can't run or dance for 2 months, and I can only walk for 15 minutes at a time. What can I do for excersice? I am used to dancing for over 10 hours a week! so it's not like a can do nothing.




Hey girl, the reason your doc told you that was because you need to give your body a rest. I suggest taking 15 minute strolls around the neighborhood with your folks, but other than that, resting your body so when those 2 months pass, you can get back in the swing of things. In the meantime, ask your instructor or doctor about some stretches you can do to keep your muscles in shape. Good luck, girlie, and get well soon!

does this sound right? i am 5'2 and weight 112 pounds Frown..13 years old, soon to be 14 in 3 months. most of the girls in my class who are my height weigh around 105 or something so now i feel really fat Frown am i overweight? should i lose some weight?




Hey girl, every girl is beautiful. Don't sweat you or other girl's numbers. The important thing to know is your body is growing and going through a big change -- puberty. During this time, things might be a bit weird, but in the end things will even out. Remember, every girl's body is unique and grows at its own rate. Just focus on being true to the inside YOU and being healthy and you'll be fine!

Hey girl, sometimes with profiles, you've gotta get a 'rent's approval too. Make sure they check out their e-mail just in case. If not, keep checking back. We're going through a bunch of profiles, but yours is definitely at the top of our list. As for b, try getting your best friend to host a gathering (bowling, maybe?) where you, their friends, and your crush all hang up. Have your BFF put you and your crush on the same team. It might be the perf way to start that convo on your classes and then take it to being friends ... maybe more. Good luck!

Aw, hey girl, I was thinking about that, but I feel like it's a great way to get to know new people. But if it's a little too weird at first, why not try catching up with him on the way out of the cafeteria? Walk with him in the hall towards your next class. It's a great way to start a convo and a friendship (maybe more?) that can last.

Hey girl, I'm going to tackle these Q's one by one. Q1: This one sounds like an icky sitch, but if this guy's dating another girl, he's off limits. Be the best friend you can be to him and get to know him a bit. Just 'cause you can't date doesn't mean you can't be good friends. And in time, who knows? Maybe you two will be together. What's meant to be will be. Q2: Girl, that's not too young to like a guy, no worries! There's no age limit and you can't help the way you feel about 'em. It's a bit of hormones. My sis had celebrity crushes a lot earlier. Q3: Give your ears a day or two and see how they feel. Sometimes eyes can "pop" because there's a 'lil bit of water in 'em. If they're still popping this time tomorrow, however, tell a rent and see what they think. They might want to contact a doc from there. Hope this helps, girlie!

ok so there's this guy i have a crush on and i dont get to see him very much and i almost never get a chance to talk to him. whenever he walks by mi table at lunch, every single day he turns around and looks at meh(im at the opposite side of the lunchroom) also when i do get a chance to talk to him it seems like he gets nervous and tries to act all cool around meh. does this mean he likes meh?? Hey girl, first of all, know that there's no race to have a boyfriend. Don't get one just because your friends have one. I promise you, it won't be worth it in the end. Give it some time. When you find the right guy, it'll happen, promise. There's no need to force one now. Just focus on being you. You'll catch that perf guy's eye -- sooner rather than later!

MOD whenever this guy e-mails me (which is mainly the only contact i've had with him since i moved schools last year) for some reason i get really nervous and excited. i don't think i like him but i just don't get why i get this way.

 

Maybe you are just excited to here from an old friend. emailing with someone long distance is also rly exciting, this could be it.

You can't help liking someone but just remind yourself he is your freinds BF. There is nothing wrong with a crush, and it will eventually go away on its own.
