i think i have a crush on my bgf who is gay.i'm really close to him and we have alot in common,we are both uber gleeks.he is one of the sweetest ,funniest guys i know.he does alot of friend flirting and i kinda take it seriously cuz guys don't flirt with me that often.the last two days we have been together on a speech trip.we have been hugigng,holding hands,hanging out,and he kissed my cheek twice(one of the times his lips brushed the corner of my mouth).i sometimes want to kiss him on the lips.i occasionally wish he wasn't gay but he wouldn't be the same.i can't avoid him cuz he is my bestie and he will know something is up.also i can't continue to set my self up for heart ache by remaining this close with him. what should i do?

To be a little blunt for a sec: you know he's gay, so the chances of you dating are zero. It'll be hard at first, but try to be honest with yourself about that! It's ok to be besties and it's ok to wonder what it would be like if he were straight, but sometimes you might need to reality check yourself: a relationship is not gonna happen. And that's ok! Instead, try to meet new guys, talk to the ones you know, and flirt if you find one attractive. It'll remind you that he's not the only guy out there! You probably like him partly because he flirts with you, hangs out with you, and you know him really well. But if you get to know another guy, you could find you like him even more! Just keep telling yourself that it can't happen because he isn't into girls - it's the truth and it'll really help bring you back down to earth. You could even try talking about your love lives with each other! Sometimes, challenging yourself to treat him as a buddy will help you get into that habit. It's going to take time because we can't help how we feel sometimes, but you can do this while also keeping him as a friend! I know it! <3

Hey! possibly, only through self reflection and more experience when you're older will you find the answer. It's perfectly normal to go through phases too, so just know that whatever you decide is 100 percent your business, and no one can make you feel bad about it. good luck!  Helen S.

I'm 13 years old and I am unsure about my sexuality. I feel bad when my family makes jokes about homosexuals even though i know that they don't really mean it. Know one else knows how I feel except I joke about being Bi with my friends but not seriosly. I just don't know whether I like boys or girls. Help!

one of my now old friends said that gay people were terrible and gross but she will never know that basically i was being called terrible and gross. she told me that people who were gay would go to he**. but god knows we are gay and he made us the way we are so why would we be so horrible if he made us this way? i am not religious but i do believe that god loves every1! if ur gay be proud, if your not don't criticise ppl like me!

Well i am bisexual at a very young age(im 11) and i mostly like girls but im afraid to tell my mom even though she would still love me i will feel very embarrassed and uncomfortable! the only person who is 11 and like me is my best friend, but she mostly likes boys. she knows my secret! it makes me feel sad when i see boys kissing girls in public, i always feel lonely like ill never be like that! should i write a note to her(my mom)? i am also going to this meeting at a hospital in my town and (i do this every year) i was wondering if i could talk to the psychiatrist there? i cant just have my friend know!




Hey babe, it's important to talk with your mom and be open about your feelings. At 11, it's hard to tell how we feel. We go through lots of emotions, phases, and changes. You can't classify yourself as anything, everyone feels out their sexuality when they're young.  It's important to seek guidance and learn to feel comfortable and happy in your own skin.  I think a note would be appropriate and try talking to a guidance counselor.

what is wrong with being gay? its not a choice. not liking gay people is like saying "i dont like people with brown eyes" or "i dont like people who are flat-footed" its how ur born, and theres nothing wrong with it.
