MOD MOD MOD!!! My mom is a single mom with 6 kids AND a home daycare. I'm on homeschool because its an unsafe situation for me at the local highschool, but I think mom is taking advantage me being home all day. She has me watch the babies a lot. When she goes to see her boyfriend every 3 weeks, she has my older sis watch us, but she just sleeps all day, and /I/ end up watching them! Like 1 time, my cousin asked if I wanted to spend the night, and I had to say no because I didn't trust my sister to watch the babies! And then when I roll my eyes or something about having to put up the dishes(and I know I shouldn't) she just says "You don't do anything around here! Some kids have to babysit CONSTANTLY" And I just want to scream, "HELLO?! WHAT AM I? A GARBAGE CAN? I'M ONE OF THOSE KIDS!" Yeah,I only have 4 "official chores", but what about the stuff I do anyway? I do almost all my brother's chores, and some of my mom's chores too! I only went away 3 times during the summer! One was to work with my sheep, and the other two my friend called. I never call my friends to go somewhere, or even to stay over, because I know I'll have to watch the babies half the time!Another thing my mom says is "Why don't you ever tell them to act right? I'm always saying it, you're their older sister, you should encourage them to have manners!" And you know what gets me? 2 things. 1)That's HER job. 2)I DO do that. I just never let her see, because I don't want her to feel like she's a bad mom, cuz she's not! She's great! It's just its almost November, and she has some things that hit her hard during Nobvember. Its really hard for her. So how do I gently explain all of this to her without making her cry??? I really need help! Answer PLEASE!!!!!




Hey girl, you're right. You need to sit down with her and tell her this nicely. Ask her for an evening the two of you can talk alone -- maybe even get someone else to watch the kids and go get an ice cream together one-on-one. Explain that while you love helping her, you want to have a bit of time to go out with friends and be a kid too. It's def not good to tell an adult their responsibilities, but let your mom instead know this is too much for you to handle. She should understand and care about the way these things make you feel. Be mature and calm, sweetie. It'll all be alright as long as you're open.

So, we go to the same school now, and since my friend goes to his church, she's trying to set us up, and we're supposed to "meet" on Monday...but I know him! We will probably go out, so when should I tell him I'm the girl at the party??




Hey babe,

I think you should tell him right away. You can say something like "hey, don't I know you from somewhere?" and if he remembers you that's probably a pretty good sign that he's been thinking about you too!

i am sick of my life... my dad comes home every day upset and tired all he does is complain
and he gets mad if me and my sis want attention it really annoys me. my mom expects me to give up my life to watch my sis like i hated summer i was stuck inside most of the time because i had to watch my 1 year old sis. i also tutor 3 times a week so i am always to busy for "me time" and i have lousy friends.
also me and my friend where gonna go to a really cool fall thing like with mechanical bulls and stuff. we alredy payed ahead of time and now she got grounded and might not be able to come

Hey girl, I'm sorry to hear things aren't going so well. In life, it's about balance. Your 'rents need some help right now and while it may be hard, I promise if you help them now it will pay off in the long run. With your friends? While you can't help it if your friend gets grounded, you can talk to them. Tell them it hurts you when they treat you the way they do and that you need their support. Oh, and your parents? Try telling them you'd like to have a little more you time -- that it's affecting your health. Be mature and calm. I can assure you they won't yell at you if you present your case like an adult and be willing to compromise -- they should be too.

Wow I'm so sorry Frown but try talking to ur mom and tell her how that makes you feel. If that's not an option, try talking to your older sis. And I would seriously consider counseling. If you want you could go to the guidance counselor at your school and he/she might be able to help. hopefully things get better!!!

Yeah the MOD is right you can't really do anything in 7th grade but what I did was go to this really pretty park I know about and have my mom take a bunch of pictures of me and help build a portfolio. BTW, if you see one of those modeling competitions set up at a mall, NEVER BELIEVE IT. They make you pay about 500 bucks to get a couple shoots for a portfolio and then don't give you anything and never come into contact with you again. Always make sure to find good information on a business or agency before you send them any money or agree to work with them.

My dad makes me play volleyball because he says its a good sport, but I'm really bad at it and I don't really like it. He says I'm not commited to anything but that's because he never let's me try anything I want to do. I asked to take voice lessons and he got me guitar lessons. Then he said I wasn't committed to guitar. Well it's like gee i wonder why! lol I really want to do cheerleading but my dad is making me try out for volleyball next year and says cheerleading is a waste of time. any advice?

Try to make an arrangement with him where you stick with something he wants you to and really commit to it for a season or a year and in exchange he lets you pick an activity that you want to do.

My dad is really mean to me. This morning we sat down for breakfast and I was waiting for the knife to spread butter on my waffle because my sister had it. My dad says what are you doing? and i said waiting for the knife. I truly just said it in monotone not with any attitude and he stands up, walks over to me, starts yelling and whacks me in the head. Then he yells some more and whacks me again. Just after school I was getting my older sis to help me with some homework. I didn't understand so I was asking her to explain more clearly. My dad, hearing this says, SHELBY IF YOU DON'T START TRYING HARDING IM GONNA WHACK YOU IN THE HEAD AS HARD AS I CAN. Sometimes he knocks me in the back of the head and gives me big knots. When he's mad at me he says things like 'Im gonna turn you over on my knee and slap you until you can't sit down!" I thought you were supposed to stop spanking when your like 7 but I'm 13! One time he actually slapped me in the face. One time he punched me in the head because I took the shoelaces out of my Sperry Topsiders! It's completely stupid stuff that shouldn't matter to him! ANYTHING SETS HIM OFF! If I talk to him I'm afraid he's gonna hit me more! Seriously, and there's nothing I can do to defend myself! GIRLS does anyone else's dad act like this? And MOD is this considered abuse? Cause I'm not sure if this is normal or not and I don't feel comfortable asking my friends because I don't want them to get too worried.

I think you really need to talk to a teacher or a counselor or another adult that you trust about this. It sounds like it could be a really serious situation and you might need an adult's help with this!

Our sadie hawkins dance is coming up and there's this guy I want to ask but I have no idea how to ask him....also my 2 good friends have already asked who they want to go with (both the guys they asked said yes) but I don't know if we would go together because my friend "A" asked a guy from another school, my friend "L" asked the new guy at our school, so none of dates would know each other which would be awkward and the other option of going with my (maybe)date would be that his friends are really outgoing (but nice) but I'm kinda quiet...so what do you think I should do????

 

Go for it! Youve got nothing to lose so just ask him ASAP! I know it's tough. Believe me, I do. But go ahead and get it over with. As far as groups, maybe suggest that you and your friends and their dates go with your date's group. MOD MOD I have to have a backhandspring for my first competitive cheerleading competition. it is on November 7th. SInce I only have a month, the pressure is on. My coach, my teammates and my parents are pressuring me. Ahhh! I just feel like I wont get it! If if I dont, I will be letting myself and everyone else down. Everytime I try to do my backhandspring on the wedge, I freak and i am too scared. How can I achieve my goal (make it by nov. 7). And if I dont make it, what should I do?! thx lots

 

It's best to talk to your parents and coach about how much  this pressure is getting to ya. No girl can perform her best when she's super stressed! It's okay if this doesn't work out and although Im sure youd like to master a backhandspring, it's not the biggest deal. Remember that and you'll feel calmer. Best, Miliana

I think you should keep being a model as your dream, however youre a little too young to do anything about it right now. So keep your options open and as you get older you'll have many more opportunities that youre parents will let you take. Practice being a model and I know you'll succeed in the future. Tell her just that. She probably has lots of stress too, so maybe you can get a babysitter and have a girl's night out, so you can really tell her how you feel.

That is so strange I used/kinda still do feel that way. My mom recently went back to work so now I have to take the bus *bleck* after school with my brother and walk home from the stop and it's so lame because my pervy teenager neighbors whistle at me when I'm walking home and I'm like "get a life, losers". But now I'm kinda used to it and if it's the sacrifice I have to make so I can have the Hollister and the Betsey Johnson that I want, then so be it.

I love my boyfriend, but I'm kinda confused about some stuff.I knew he liked my bff a little before he asked me out, but whenever we go somewhere as a group he'll always ask if she'll be there. I don't want to ask too much about this, because we recently decided we were going too fast and we were gonna start over, and i don't want to jeaprodize our relationship any more. Since he doesnt go to my school, i don't get to see him often.,
Also, I don't want to sound stalkerish but since we decided to take it slower he takes FOREVER to answer my texts/ calls. I'm not sure how often I should try to talk to him a day or attempt to at least. After his game last night, he didnt even hug me goodbye after i drove 40 minutes to come and see him.
And lastly, his mother and sister are in wheelchairs, so my bf takes care of his family. I'm always scared I'll say something offensive. I try to be patient with him, but my bff says that he can't use his homelife as an excuse to treat me badly. I'm confused....
My bf was my best friend for the longest time. How do I fix all this and not lose him?

Ok, so my two best friends B and L used to be so close. But something happened and now they HATE each other. I love them both to death, but it bugs me when they say bad things about each other. When they got into a fight, my friend K sided with B and L was pretty much on her own. L was feeling left out and accused K of being "cliquey", which led to a ton of fighting. I never took sides, though secretly I kind of agreed more with K and B. Over time, everything became ok between L and K, but there's so much tension between L and B. Like a little while ago, L and me decided we wanted to throw a Halloween party at her house and we could both host it. We were thinking of people to invite and when I mentioned B, she's like "NO WAY! She's too boring and we hate each other." I feel so horrible! I have no idea what to do. I really want to host the party with her but it's not going to be the same without B. I love them both so much and I could never pick one over the other; B is so understanding and I always feel better because we can talk to each other about anything. And I can never be in a bad mood around L because she's always happy and we have a ton of fun together. I want to help with the party, but I don't want to be responsible if I'm not inviting my best friend. What should I do?




Hey girl! You could still invite her and just tell your other friend that you would like her there and it is both of your parties. They dont have to talk to each other and I think the party will be ok if you have other people there
