My friend smells...BAD!

I don't think my friend showers. She smells awful! I don’t know how to tell her, but her B.O. is REALLY terrible! I feel bad...

My BFF, Sydney, has bad hygiene. She hardly ever takes a shower so her hair is very greasy. When I have her over, we usually go swimming but my parents make me wash her hair because when she showers at our house, her hair goes back to greasy so we know she's not washing it. It makes me feel really awkward to wash her hair and I have no clue how she feels. I one time asked her if she liked me washed her hair (cuz I massage the scalp and stuff) and her response was "I dunno." It got me wondering. Also, when we brush our teeth in the morning, afterward, her teeth stayed yellow and I can see that peach-fuzz like stuff caked on her teeth. I'm really concerned for her health and hygiene. I have no clue how to confront her, let alone help her! Please reply! Thank you!




I suggest you talk to her about it and ask her why she doesnt shower. All you can do is suggest she does it more. But beyond that theres not much you can do. sorry. xoxo kerra

MOD MOD MOD MOD I sent an email to the GL magazine thing but my question was never answered. And it was about a year ago... So I was wondering if you could answer it now.. I think my friend has "feelings" for girls. When ever I am over her house or she is over my house, she always talks about things like that. I was in her pool the other day and we were seeing how long we could stay underwater. We both went under and she started touching me weirdly. Then she wanted me to do it back to her! I lied and said I had to go home. I dont know what to do!




Hey girl! I think I just answered your question in another comment. You should def talk to your friend - if you guys are close, you can ask her right out if she feels that way. She might just be curious with the subject ... or maybe she genuinely is swinging in that direction. If so, you have to make it clear that you still want to be her friend, but you don't share the same feelings (for girls). I know it's hard to bring up, but it will create necessary boundaries and you can help your friend at the same time. Good luck!

-MOD- my bff's are pulling me apart lately and always making me feel guilty. if they wanna do something and i cant or dont want 2 then they say tht they wont go bcuz of me and purposely make me feel guilty. i have explained to them tht they should go & have a good time and tht if i dont wanna go its my loss,tht they are their own person and do not have to follow wat i do but they dont get it!!! they say things like "well i dont no how u feel about me..but when ur not there we rlly miss u, its not the same." and its sweet of them but when i make them go w/o me they first tell me im ruining it for all of them but at the end of the day ill get a call from all of them saying it was amazing and tht i missed the best time. this happens again and again they just dont get it. help. talking doesnt seem to work!!! im tired of feeling guilty when i dont feel like going skating or something!!!

 

Hey chica! I'm very glad to hear that you have a mind of your own and don't let them convince you to go places when you don't want to. Your friends don't sound like very good friends at the moment. Maybe give them an ultimatum. Tell them that they need to stop pressuring you and making you feel bad or else you're going to start hanging out with other people.

Hey girly, have a sit down pow-wow with your friends and ask them for examples of how you both are being snooty. They should be able to tell you what they're talking about. Sometimes, you don't realize when you're acting a certain way. That's why you have friends, to let you know these kids of things and snap you out of it.

Hey babe! How about bringing up the issue with them...you want to talk about what's important to you, and bashing someone else or being mean isn't something that interests you.
