Are you sure they are dating? Or does she just think, 'aaw, what a cute little third grader, i think ill write some notes to him.' If she is actually doing stuff with him cause she LIKE likes him, then you should ask her why she likes him so much, but not in a mean way. Just say "So, how come you do a lot of stuff with (blank)? Is he nice to you, or smart, or what?" Assure her you arent trying to critize her, that ur just curious. If she cant think of any reasons, try to point out all the cute guys in her grade, and say "Oh, isnt he cute?" then ask her if SHE thinks the guy is cute. Maybe you can get her to like some boys in your grade.
And if she still likes that little third grader, then you should just let her be. Its her desision, and if you keep pestering her she could get really mad and you guys wont be able to have a great friendship anymore.

Hey chica, you're very right in saying that it's dangerous. The best you can do it talk to your parents about it, and talk to hers. Also, you can talk to a teacher, or guidance counselor, and maybe they can look into this guy and see what the deal is. It's better to be safe than sorry. Make sure that some adults are aware of this.

My mom is really paranoid about texting and stuff. Like there's this one guy I know and were friends but my mom is like why are you texting so much. And since this guy likes you ur leading him on. Hey girl, that is a tough situation. I would just try and talk to your mom about how you feel. Maybe if you make a legitimate case and prove that you are older now, she will listen.

i am in a sitch! some of my friends (lets call them x and z) and i are going to do the talent show 2gether this year. u have 2 have a group leader so we picked z 2 be the leader. we really need 2 practice and as the group leader x and i think z should say something like "hey guys, i think we should practice" but instead she just goes and plays with some random girls at recess which is the only time we can practice. so x and i just practice 2gether bcuz us 2 are going 2 do a dance in the background while z is singing. so we started doing that and then one day she stood kind of near us and kind of not (like 3 or so yards away) and looked mad. then she got all mad at ME and was like "i wanted 2 practice but u guys r just doing it by urselves" she never gets mad at x and she took it out on me. we worked it out and stuff but the next day we wanted 2 practice and she didnt. so me and x r kind of confused and a little mad but especially me bcuz i apologized that same day and so did x but x showed me the note that Z wrote back to her and it said "O im not mad at u" !!!!!!!!!!!! help plz!! ~C

MOD MOD MOD! So I have a really good BGF and he has liked me for a while. I have always told myself that I am not into him like that and I just don't have any attraction towards him, but now he has lost tons of weight and got his braces off. I have a big group a friends and he is in it. We hang out all the time. But, recently we have been hanging out 101 and I am finding myself "missing" him when I drive home and when I am at home I am "longing" for him to text me or for us to hang out. I have another BGF and I KNOW I don't feel like that about him. I just don't know what this means. Does it mean that I just really like hanging out with him, or am I starting to like him. My friend always takes her ballet flats off in class (she sits right next to me in most of my classes) and her feet really SMELL! I have asked her to put her shoes back on, but she refuses. The problem is, she is both really sensitive and extremely abrasive at the same time, so if I try to solve the problem, she will get really up in my face about it. What do I do?

 

Hey girl, that is tough. You could try to nicely talk to her about it. Or maybe bring up a product she can use to get rid of the smell, but pretend that you know someone else who uses it. Something like that. Maybe she would take the hint or buy the product.

1) WHen I went on vacay, I used bar soap 'stead of face wash. And my face cleared up tons. Was it the warm weather or the bar soap? And should I use bar soap or face wash on my face?
2) I'm getting bored with my makeup and don't wanna buy any more cause I already have tons. I've tried everything from liquid turqouise liner to multi colored shadow. I'm 12 but I look more like 14 or 15, and I'm not afraid to do something different, but I don't want anything that will take too long. I have blue eyes, long brown hair with natural gold streaks, and golden skin. Oh, and I thought colored mascara seems interesting but, I don't wanna buy anything. Could I DIY it?

For question 1, I just answered it on the last post so check it out there! For question 2, it all depends on what makeup you have. You could try and mix up the colors and do something different, but it's hard for me to know without seeing what kind of makeup you have. But you could try mixing and matching to use the same makeup you have but change up the look.

My mom brought up sexting the other day because she read this article about how many teens were into it. Part of it I didnt want to hear, especially from her, so I just read it myself. The article makes us look bad because it went into everything we are doing online when it comes to online dating and sexting for ages 13 to 16. Basically it said about,

42% of us flirt online
35% of us have sexy talk with other people
28% of guys send naked pictures of themselves
33% of girls send naked pictures of themselves

Now I know why my mom brought the subject up, way more people my age are doing things they shouldnt.

Hey girl, I think your mom should just call a school administrator or guidance counselor instead before she takes that step. Let the school heads know. Mother a teacher or not, it should make no difference with how the school board handles this case.

Hey girl, I don't think chocolate really helps. What may, however, is putting ice or heat on cramped areas and taking a rest. Advil also takes a little while to kick in too, so give it some time.

I have friends who "hook up" with guys online too. I think they are crazy, some of the things they tell me that they share bothers me because it just seems weird to be sharing private thoughts and pictures like that. They have even told me they use their webcams. It must be fine with some people because of how many of us are doing that and sadly guys will show and do just about anything.

So I dont know what is better or worse but at least with webcams you can see what the other person looks like so you arent flirting with someones dad.

Me and my ex dated last year for 5 months, and dated this year for 5 months. We broke up just to take a break, and about a month later he started dating a different girl. They've been dating almost 2 months. The past few days my ex has texted me. At first he was like "Hey i'm sorry if you thought this.. but I don't like you anymore.. sorry if you thought i did cuz i don't..." and I said I didn't like him anymore either, cuz i thought i didn't. Then we started talking more and he said he is always going to have feelings for me. Then he said he loves me and always has and probably always will. (we have honestly liked each other since Kindergarten, we're in 8th now.) He said something about how he is with this other girl now, and he likes her, but not in the same way he liked me.. Then we were talking and he was like "remember what I promised you tho.." he had promised to marry me... i was like that doesn't make sense! why would he promise to marry a girl that he wasn't dating? Then he said he doesn't think him and this other girl will last too long, because he doesn't think she truly loves him.. then he said something about me and him dating in the future. and i was like "so what am I? your backup girlfriend?" and he said no. he said if he wasnt with this other girl he would want to be with me, and that he loved me. Then i was like "I don't want you to break up with her, cuz she is my friend, but why are you dating her if you don't love her?" and he said he did love her, but not in the same way, or as much as he loved me. So pretty much I have no idea what to do. I thought I was over him, but I've liked him forever.. idk what to say, because like i don't want him to think I will always just be here waiting for him. I don't want him to think he can have me whenever he wants to.. But then again, i miss him! i told him it was like he thought i would just wait around forever for him.. but i wasn't going to. I miss him! I want to date him again, but idk if it's right or what to say.. help! :/




Hey girl,  I think it's totally right to want to date other people -- he is. Here's what you should do: tell him you love him but you two should focus on being friends right now. In order to know if you two truly are right, you need to try dating other people and seeing how they work. Love has a way of working itself out: if you're meant to be in the long run, you will be. You're young now though -- don't stay trapped in this unfair relationship.

Talk to the guy's ex and tell her that as well and that you're sorry about what her BF did and that you really aren't interested in him and told him no (and that she also deserves better). It's not your fault they broke up -- just let others know the truth.

Hey girl, first of all, it's super important that you get to know him himself. His mom isn't going to determine whether or not he's going to have a girlfriend -- he has to like a girl first and want one. That's something getting to know him can help you with: he may or may not see you as a potential one. Stick to being friends. Strike a casual convo if you're over there about how he is and gradually build that friendship first. You can't just jump from little sister's friend to big brother's girlfriend -- it's all about the gradual transition first.

Hey girl, it's hard to say. While he may be staring at you, he may just be staring in that general direction too -- be careful not to rush to conclusions. That said, the best thing you can do is TALK TO HIM. Ask how his day is going. Ask about a class you're in together. Stick to establishing a speaking relationship first before you hint to him you think he's cute. Trust me, slow and steady wins the race.

Hey girl, realize your parents don't want to ruin your social life with their decision; they just care about you. That said, ask them if there's a compromise point and their reasons why you can't. Maybe you can have one if you set your profile completely to private so only your friends can see any info (you can work with them to set privacy settings once creating an account). Maybe they'll let you have one in a year. Discuss it maturely with them and you'll see there may just be a middle ground.

I've liked my crush since last year. People found out I liked him last year, and told him. He was like,"Yea, Im not really into her." I was dissapointed at first, but moved on. Now at the beginning of this year, I have P.E. with him, and his friend. I remmeber we were doing these exercises, and the whole time, he was looking back at me and smiling and whispering something to his friend. I'd blush, but shake it off, I mean last year he said he wasn't interested. Now he's like starting to talk to me. And I saw him today like atleast more than 5 times in the hallway. I usually don't because I have no classes with him(except PE) He would like stare me down. Hey girl, ouch, it can totally hurt when someone rejects you. While he may have gotten over you for the time being, however, you can hint things have changed. Try flirting with him and trying to get closer to him in general. Who knows? His feelings may not be that long gone if you just remind him of the person he used to be dreaming about.

Hey girl, try first of all washing your face morning and night with a cleanser. Apply spot treatment to your zits (you can get acne cream at the drug store -- Neutrogena sells a great one: On-the-Spot Acne Treatment.)  While I can't guarantee they'll be completely gone, it should help.

MOD, Me and my ex dated last year for 5 months, and dated this year for 5 months. We broke up just to take a break, and about a month later he started dating a different girl. They've been dating almost 2 months. The past few days my ex has texted me. At first he was like "Hey i'm sorry if you thought this.. but I don't like you anymore.. sorry if you thought i did cuz i don't..." and I said I didn't like him anymore either, cuz i thought i didn't. Then we started talking more and he said he is always going to have feelings for me. Then he said he loves me and always has and probably always will. (we have honestly liked each other since Kindergarten, we're in 8th now.) He said something about how he is with this other girl now, and he likes her, but not in the same way he liked me.. Then we were talking and he was like "remember what I promised you tho.." he had promised to marry me... i was like that doesn't make sense! why would he promise to marry a girl that he wasn't dating? Then he said he doesn't think him and this other girl will last too long, because he doesn't think she truly loves him.. then he said something about me and him dating in the future. and i was like "so what am I? your backup girlfriend?" and he said no. he said if he wasnt with this other girl he would want to be with me, and that he loved me. Then i was like "I don't want you to break up with her, cuz she is my friend, but why are you dating her if you don't love her?" and he said he did love her, but not in the same way, or as much as he loved me. So pretty much I have no idea what to do. I thought I was over him, but I've liked him forever.. idk what to say, because like i don't want him to think I will always just be here waiting for him. I don't want him to think he can have me whenever he wants to.. But then again, i miss him! i told him it was like he thought i would just wait around forever for him.. but i wasn't going to. I miss him! I want to date him again, but idk if it's right or what to say.. help! :/

That sounds like a confusing situation!  Even if you are kind of interested, this guy is dating someone else, so he's off-limits.  Maybe in the future, when you are both single, things will work out.  For now, it's best to just let him figure things out on his own.  xoxo

MOD MOD MOD MOD MOD MOD MOD MOD MOD MOD MOD ok.so my bgf has been my science lab partner for three years.(he was my lab partner only because we were the only two left and i didn't talk to him at all back then, but he has been my partner ever since) every time we have lab, he will randomly ask me if i like this person or that person, and i always say no because i don't really like anyone right now. i usually ask him who he likes(though not naming specific people like he does) and he says he likes no one. but for some reason i get the feeling that he likes me and is maybe trying to see if i like him, but i don't. is this at all a reasonable guess to why he does this or am i completly off? thanks so much for any help you can give.

Hey chica!  There is no need to be scared - sometimes your cycle/flow change from month to month, and it's completely normal.  Still, since you are worried, it would be good to tell a mom or adult about your concerns.  They can help ya keep track and decide if it's a good idea to make an appointment with your doc.  xoxo

Hey chica!  It can be totally normal for your cycle to change - stress and exercise, among other things, can cause that to happen.  If you're worried though, I would def let a parent know - they can get you into a doc if you need.

No dumb questions - I totally know what you mean!  Since guys are usually taller, your arms would usually go somewhere around their waist/back.  For the most part though, it's just the same as hugging a girl!

Sometimes your period and flow can be a little different from month to month - things like stress and exercise can affect your cycle.  Still, if you're worried, I would def let a parent know.  They can help ya make a doc appointment if you need it, and make sure everything is a-okay.
