I agree that she wants to just be herself, but she has so many younger fans that look up to her, and the way she's dressed right now shouldn't be an example to little kids. Especially since it all happened so fast. She was all sweet and dressed in sparkles and stuff... then BAM! She randomly becomes the opposite. it wouldn't be such a big deal and wouldn't be that bad if she didn't have a lot of younger fans...
But then again, I kind of agree with her, she's getting tired of singing for little kids, she's 17! So when people say "oh she's such a bad role model!" think of it that way, if you were 17 would you really want to sing for 5-10 year olds?
So, I think that if she wants to, she could kind of push away from the whole Hannah Montana thing, but don't do it so quick this time.

Miley has changed a lot. But when she was younger she put the hannah image on her and hannah fans still like her, but im not sure if thats a good idea anymore since most of them are younger. I think Miley should put out music still but keep in mind little kids might be listening and to not go over the top. Still put out her music just make it kid-friendly.

Ok, no offense to Miley, because I used to love her, but she's trying to grow up way too fast. She went from singing "This is the life, hold on tight", wearing sparkly girly clothing, using fun and appropriate dance moves and being really sweet and innocent and down-to-earth to singing "Have to get my way 'cause I'm hot like that", wearing dark kind of goth-like clothing (and not a lot of it!), using weird inappropriate dance moves (like looking like she's kissing a girl or dancing with a pole), and getting tattoos and piercings. And she's only 17! I don't see most 25 year old singers acting like she is!

I read a magazine article where people were asking what happened to her and they said its not any different than what happened to Britney Spears and other teen singers when they started to get older. And they did compare her to guy singers and said if she was a guy she would not even be questioned for dressing different of singing more adult type songs and that with girls its different.

People will probably always pick on her, just like the guy who posted online pictures of her naked under her skirt. That was wrong and the nice sweet Miley seems to now be the wild teen Miley. I guess that happens to a lot of us, I have friends like that.

I'm not really sure what I think about Miley. On one hand she can be inappropriate and not a good role model, but on the other she's 17 and should be able to make a lot of her decisions. For me it doesn't really matter, though. Miley has hardly any influence on my life. I'm not a crazy fan, but I'm not against her, either. Anybody who calls her names and hates on her is not a good role model either, am I correct? Anyway, I listen to some songs by her because I like them. She's not really a big concern in my life. I think what she is doing is fine if you are a teen or a young teen but if you are 10 or 11 I think it gives girls weird ideas. I have friends whos sisters follow everything she does and now when they see her pole dancing, grinding and wearing low cut clothes showing so much of her body, I am sure they will want to act like her.

So it was bad when she took those nude pictures for that magazine but now she is acting like an older teen and so grown up, it gives us mixed messages about dating and boys.

I totally understand how Miley doesn't want to be seen as "the girl who played Hannah Montana on Disney channel", but I don't like the way she is doing it. Wearing clothes that show way to much, putting bad lyrics in her songs, and dancing and doing all those inappropriate things on her music videos, is not the best way to get out of her Disney image. She can still grow up and mature and lose her Hannah image without wearing skimpy clothes and putting bad words in her lyrics. She is setting a really bad example for all of those younger kids that look up to her. I don't hate Miley, I'm just giving my opinion.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but...doesn't she say that she's a Christian? Based on the way she's acting, dressing, and presenting herself, I would tend to say that she has strayed away from those values. I think it's so sad that most young celebrities end up this way. I guess it must be all of the pressure, or something. I still can't believe that her parents would allow this. If I ever did this, my parents would be so disappointed in me. I also feel bad for her younger fans, and I hope they don't take her to be their role model.

i think what the new miley is going for is the type of music most teens are into these days.

So I've always thought that Miley Cyrus was a bit of a Stupid Little Uncontrollable Teenager (look at the first letters of those 4 words), but when "Can't Be Tamed" first came out, the fact that she was sort of admitting it was actually kind of refreshing. Nothing bothers me more than trying to be someone you're not, and when she was trying to keep up her Disney Princess persona and still partaking in questionable behaviors-- that really grated on my nerves. But now that she's openly growing into a wilder side of herself and leaving the old Miley behind, I'm glad that she's not trying to hide anymore. It made her less annoying. Somehow, when i wasn't looking, Miley Cyrus became cool. I know, right? freaky. But true.

Personally I think everyone's being a little hard on her. I'm not saying I condone some of her behaviors, but for the record, she isn't 14 anymore and she can't stay an 8-year-old's idol for the rest of her life. I do agree that she might be going a little too fast, but I think that has something to do with having a celebrity lifestyle- people around you expect you to mature fast. EVERYONE makes mistakes, and as a star, her entire life is picked to pieces by the public and captured on film by the paparazzi. Girls who are tearing her apart- are you saying you've never made mistakes? Think of a stupid mistake you've made- how would you feel if everyone in the world was discussing it and dissecting it? And- GASP- Miley swore... so has 90% of the world (and for the record, saying "or tell you to go to hell" is NOT real swearing). As a teen she's trying out stuff, testing limits, which is kind of normal. Maybe she's gone a little too far sometimes, but she always has everything covered that needs to be covered, and isn't pregnant (as far as we know).
Do you guys think Lady Gaga is a horrible role model? Are you insulting Katy Perry? Sure they're older, but Miley hasn't done anything close to those two.
Some of you are calling her the next Britney Spears or Lindsey Lohan- because of a few little mistakes and trying out a new style, uncovering a little more skin, having tattoos? She's probably under pressure to lose her "little-girl" image.
If Miley hadn't been Hannah Montana, less people would be criticising her, it's true. She can't be little-girl Disney forever. Would you like people talking about you that way if you tried new things, even if you messed up a little?
Seriously. Give the girl a break.

I think that she needs to realize that she still has the Hannah Montana rep, not the new Miley rep. She is growing up, so I can understand why she would want to get rid of her Hannah Montana past. But at the same time, kids still look up to her. She needs to figure out the fine line between getting crazy every now and then (Can't be tamed? Can't be a parent charmer) and trying to be bad-ass.

I am most definatly not a fan of miley cyrus. First of all she doesnt really have musical talent. So now that she "is getting older", i think that she believes (or someone told her this) that the only way she can sell her self as a "rockstar" is by getting attention, good or bad. Its obvious that she is going for the bad atention because truthfully the media eats it up, so she is more public and people talk about her. I agree with the person who said miley thinks that
"edgy" = "sluty", because edgy can look good without showing to much skin. she will be the next lindsey lohan in 5 years from now anyway. so miley go ahead and live your "rebelious" life, but for our sake PLZ PUT SOME CLOTHES ON!!

Doesn't she know that she has younger fans from Hannah Montannah and they are still looking up to her? She should be more responsible than that. I LOVE THE NEW MILEY. I hated her before. I like her now though. Her new album is great. And the songs aren't that bad. I've heard way worse. Try listening to Lil Wayne or Drake. Theyre young, but no one cares too much about what they say. Everyone should stop acting like swearing is such a big deal for a 17 year old but really, it is part of the language I hear everyday with a bunch of 12-14 year olds. And her outfit is not that bad. I've seen worse, way worse. And stop comparing her to Britney like it's a bad thing, Britney Spears was one of the greatest pop icons ever. She still is. She started out at 17 or something, she's dressed kind of how Miley is on her album cover in one of her really old videos.

And I don't look up to Miley or anything, my role model is still Taylor Swift. But I do think people need to lighten up on Miley. She's growing up. It would happen eventually anyway.

And her clothes- so what you guys? she's almost eighteen. and while i dont think that those clothes are very appropriate, theyre not that bad either. She wore a belly shirt on her album cover. BIG DEAL. at least she doesnt walk around on the streets like that.

so, dont judge miley just because you dont like her clothes or the ways she expresses herself. she has a pretty good head on her shoulders, so just let her be.

If she wants to dress like britney spears, cuss, etc. its fine. But I don't understand how she can act like that and still be on Hannah Montana Forever, which is for young girls. She's gotta choose one or the other. Sorry, Miley-this time you can't have the best of both worlds.

she IS NOT 18, she is still 17. And don't say "what's the difference?" because there is a HUGE difference. At 17 you are still under the guidance of you legal guardians but at 18 you have the right to make your own choices.But at any age she is still acting/dressing inappropriately. And there is a fine line between growing up and changing. Growing up means you act more mature and make more mature decisions. Changing is taking one or more things about you,and making them into something else. It can be for the better or worse, but in Miley's case, it's for the worse. Vanessa J.

Miley Cyrus has been working since she was 12. She hasn't lived her life like most people. So yeah this is not good for little kids who praise her to have this as their role model. But my point is she is growing up fast because its natural to her. And me, I don't hate her or praise her I'm going to leave her the way she wants to be.

I hate the new Miley Cyrus. There's a lot of young girls who really look up to her and want to be like her. When they see how she dresses and the cussing in her music, they're going to want to say those words and dress like her. She's being a very bad role model for lots of young girls that look up to her. I'm disappointed in Miley. I'm not buying this CD for that reason. I'm really hoping she'll snap out of it and work for her younger audience again.

My view is that she thinks growing up means dressing inappropriately and being immodest. She danced inappropriately at an award show, wears really revealing clothing in her music videos, and one line in "cant be tamed" says go to h***. she still has little kids and parents watching her. kids shouldn't see things like that. now she's going to lose like 80% of her audience cuz little kids can't watch her anymore. Plus, she has a nose piercing, a bellybutton piercing, and a tattoo, which little kids can't see because they would "want one, too." she's planning on getting married young, and i think she's making some pretty bad decisions lately. but it's her life not mine.

And also, we're just used to Hannah Montana with everything pink and happy. If Miley first came into the scene like this, it would be no big deal.
For example, Ke$ha was never Hannah Montana, and I don't hear anybody critizing Ke$ha's outfits.
Miley changed her record place (?) from Disney to Rock Mafia, so that's why she changed. She's 18 now... thats why she changed.

ummm... my point is she is a human... we all make mistakes and personility i change my style like every two weeks.. its a fun way to try new things. Just cause Miley is in the spotlight we all look down on her.. you never know she might be the next queen of pop... do remember that Madonna changed herself MANY times and she is still loved by many people, including me. I think Mileys new change is for the better.. I never really liked all that Hannah Montana "Nobody's Perfect" junk.... Heres an idea.. dont critize someone unless you would say it to their face.. you can say.. yeah the new Miley isnt my favorite, but you dont have to go on and on and on about all of here mistakes, her new "slutty" clothes, and for goodness sake, she swore!! OMG!! You can always choose not to listen to her music.. but dont rat her out like you guys are doing... Demilavotofan249 is doing it perfectly.. so how about you dont insult someone just cause of they're choice of clothing or language.. sounds good??

everyone has to stop critisizing her! she IS a good singer. ya she is not hannah montana anymore! so? her new songs are pretty good. i love robot. and yeah ok that whole slutty outfits r kinda off, but thats just becuz were still used to hannah montana. if she was never on hannah montana and she came into the scene dressed like this and sang like this it wouldnt be a big deal! face everyones just in shock! ;)
