Seriously I am the exact same way! Just laugh about it and learn to accept your phobia! If you show others that you are not embarrassed even if you are they will not laugh at you and they will laugh with you.

I was the same way. My parents said to not be afraid of them beacause they are like dogs, they sense things. and trust me they do. I treid to stay clam and it worked now everytime I hear one I just calmly stnad their and ignore it.

Whenever somebody has a peice of cardboard in their hand who is in my sight, I scream and run for my life!!!! Please help me!!!

 

Hey girl, It's totes normal to have strange things that we don't like.  But since it's causing you problems in your everday life, it's really important that you talk to an adult you trust.  A parent, aunt, teacher, or counselor will be able to help you get over your fear so it doesn't cause you probs.

omg so i was just in my closet and going thru some clothes and this black spider thats been there for weeks jumped out at me from the hangers. It crawled and jumped off my arm and i pretty much ran away screaming!! It like scarred me for life! I know that sounds crazy but im pretty sure i have arachnid phobia, fear of spiders..or something. I couldnt just go and kill it, im even afraid of being in the same ROOM as it. and my family thinks that im being silly! Even now i keep on seeing movements everywhere and feel like theres a spider on me! So i do need to get over this phobia rite? how????!!!

 

Hey girlie, some people are just really afraid of spiders. I'll admit they freak me out a lot too. You don't have to get over it. Just try to calm yourself down and if it'll make you feel better you can take a shower now to make sure there's nothing on you.

Okay i've gotten stung twice and fainted twice because of the bee. My parents say it's just because im like afraid and they don't think its that im allergic but you have it easy just dont run away and scream you haven't actually been stung yet but just stay still.

Ever since I went on a wooden rollercoaster when I was about 8, I have HATED rollercoasters. I'm 15 now, and in a few days, my family is going to an amusement park. My sister wants me to sit in the front row of a rollercoaster that I have been to afraid to go on. I want to go on it, but I don't want to get too freaked out. And there is another rollercoaster she wants me to go on that has loops and you hang from the track! I want to go on them, but they are freaky! Help!!!!!

 

Hey girl, if you're scared and you know it's not good for you don't go on them. Even if people start to make fun of you for not going on them, don't listen - stand your ground! Trust me, I hateeee roller coasters, I just can't do it.

Okay everyone saying that they are "the same way," and that theyre "sooo scared of bees" really has NO IDEA what it is like to have a real phobia. I don't even know if the girl in the article has a real phobia, but I do. I am apiphobic, which means I am irrationally terrified of bees and wasps. I FAINT when a bee is near me, I can't help it. I have never gotten stung. I probably need therapy because I've gotten hurt fainting before, but I don't want it. So everyone who's saying that they have phobias when it's not a real diagnosis, stop. Its insulting to those of us who have real problems.

i have a horrible fear of shots! i just dont like seeing the needle heading for me about to puncture my skin. when i had to get a flu shot i freaked soooooo bad they had to hold me down!!!! this year i have to get a shot if i want to be able to go to school!!!!!

 

Hey girlie, don't watch the needle. Just keep your head in the other direction when they bring the needle in so that you don't see it all. Then you'll just feel a little pinch and it'll be over before you know it!

It's totally cool that you have a bee/Wasp phobia, lol i'm the same way i'm terrified, one time i was hanging out with my friend by the pool, we were sitting on the edge and one landed on HER leg and I totally freaked, stood up and did this really odd, weird leap into the pool, lol she was cracking up it was really funny, but terrifying at the same time! lol

Haha no worries I have a little bee phobia too Smile I just freeze up if it lands on me and be like "help me.." with my eyes closed lol Or go inside like they said. You don't need counseling for your phobia. Most girls are afraid of wasps and bees and bugs in general. Like me, I can handle anything but spiders for the most part . Most people think it's funny if you scream when you see a bee because like I said,, it's not an uncommon fear ;] So no worries girly!

I'm really concious. I'm not pretty at all. I hate all my features, my hair, and my body. I'm underweight but I'm not skinny. I get made fun of a lot about the way I look but I believed I was ugly before they told me. Everytime I look in the mirror I feel like I'm going to cry. Heyy Smile So I have a little problem. My best guy friend and I really liked each other. And today he said he wasn't going to ask me out unless I called him. I've NEVER been able to call him without a friend there. I said I couldn't call because I was too shy, and then he said we were just going to be friends. He flirts with me a lot, and is really protective of me. Like he calls me beautiful and says "text me whenever u want. im always here 2 talk to u". But he said today that if I didn't call him, it was our last chance at a relationship. I really like him, and I'm tempted to say I love him. But I blew that last chance with him, and I'm not sure what to do. I can't go on being just friends. Frown Please help! Thanks a TON!

 

Hey girl! I would get over your fear of calling/texting him and do it now. If you really like this guy than you need to make the effort to talk to him. But if he's not making the same effort, than he might not be worth it.

MOD MOD MOD MOD I'm 12, and my parents won't let me have a Facebook! I've tried to get them to let me have a private one and promised that I would be careful about sharing personal info, but they still think it's dangerous. I really don't think they understand the concept of a private Facebook. Every time I try to talk to them about it, they change the subject. I'm starting junior high this fall, and I think it would be a good way to stay in touch with my elementary school friends. How can I get them to understand?

 

Hey girlie,

The best way to win them over is to do research for them. Try going on Facebook and reading their Frequently Asked Questions/Help section about privacy. Learn all about the ability to hide info from strangers {and to even choose exactly who can see which pieces of info}, then explain the process to your parents. Also explain the concept of having "friends," which essentially means allowing people to see certain parts of your profile. Let them know exactly what you'll use it for: staying in touch with elementary school friends, family, etc. By looking as educated as possible, they will hopefully trust you to be mature and responsible with it. Still, be prepared for them to be unsure and even still say no. Don't get emotional or upset: respect their decision and wait a while before you try again. You'll get one eventually - it's just about finding the right time <3

MOD MOD MOD MOD i start camp monday for the first time, but i hav a huge pimple on my cheek and a healing pimple on my chin. ik this is gross but the healing one is scabbing over. is there any way to make them both go away faster? thanks! Smile

 

Hey chica! First, I would avoid touching them as much as you can. Your hands will just spread more bacteria, which will make the irritation last longer. Also, you can use a spot treatment to help speed up the process... my favorite is Terminator10, which comes in an orange tube and can be found for super cheap at your local drugstore, Target, Walmart, or the likes. Just apply on the spot before bed and your new pimple should look better in the morning!

ugh i hate bees!!!
i also have a little bit of a phobia. i used to be really afraid of dogs, because when i was little a dog twice the size of me jumped on me and it really scared me. now i'm okay, but i'm still a little nervous when i go to friend's houses and they have dogs. Usually i ask them to keep the dog in another room or something. I understand how embarassing it can be.

THANK YOU SO MUCH GL! I am deathly afraid of them! I always have been, but it has been a much bigger fear after I got stung by a wasp when I didn't even bother it! Even since, I haven't believed that saying about how if you don't bother them, they won't bother you. I just walked onto my deck and I got stung!

so my birthday is tomoorow and since im turning 13 i thought it would be cool to have alto of my friends here. well i invited 9 girls...then most of them canceld and it went down to four then that one couldnt come then i lost another now its just two and one mite be ate and im just so stresed i have no idea of how to feel better...i shoud be excited, tomorrows my bday! help! Smile

I am a 36 in-seam in pants and my size in pants varies from a 0 to a 1. It's hard to find jeans for me because most stores I shop at don't carry a 36 in-seam. And online, they are like sixty bucks. So I guess what I'm asking is where can I find 36 in-seam jeans that are a size 0 or 1, and aren't too expensive?

 

Hey girlie, most stores do carry jeans in different lengths. Try a longer pair and see if that helps.

Hey girlie, there's not really any way that you can change your natural pain tolerance. I'm not good with it either. Just do the best you can to get through the pain and try not to think about the pain too much. If you can ignore then you'll feel less of it.

i used to be scared until i got stung. i got a huge skin reaction and it didn't even hurt that bad. i was just waiting for my friend and i was texting when my arm hurt. and i saw that a bee had stung me sooo it was all good.

MOD I think I have OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder). I get stressed when anything's outta order, I get ticked off easily when it comes to germs, I worry TOO much about my appearance EVERY DAY, EVERY MOMENT, and even my parents tease me 'cause of those reasons. Even my friends tease me about it, too. (I googled the symptoms, and of course I match it.) I hate the feeling of being so stressed all the time, every day! I want it to stop, but my parents have always been teasing me about it, and whenever I try and bring it up seriously, they don't listen. We're the kind of family that doesn't make a huge deal out of things, we're the kind of "get over and hurry up!" fam so yeah.. What should I do?

 

Hey! If your parents won't take you seriously try talking to another trusted adult like a guidence counselor. They should be able to help you talk to your family and get you the help you need. Good luck!

Hey chickie,

I think the best thing to do is to become as familiar with bugs as you can. Read about them, talk to people who really like them or who even study them as a living. Figure out what it is that scares you most about them - why do they freak you out? Is it just because they're weird looking? Are you afraid they'll hurt you? By learning about them and becoming comfortable with seeing them all the time, you might be able to kick the fear... or at least make it a bit easier to manage!

my sister does that! i just tell her to calm and bees just go away, they only sting when they are harmed. If you spaz and run or swing your arms, bees will sting.

so we were in mexico @ dinner and i ordered a pina colada and like 5 bees come @ r table so i jump up and dodge them and my dad tells me to sit down and so does my mom but i cant cuz 1) im afraid of bees and 2) theres 1 on my seat! So i say that and they just get mad at me and tell me im being to dramatic and that if i ignore them they wont *bug* me (ha. ha.) right then, a bee flies by my moms face! lol!

i have this same prob! i got stung when i was 2 on my butt and have been scared ever since and ever since we added on to our house, they find their way into my room almost daily. i cry and make my mom kill them for me and she says ima baby. even finding dead ones gives me chills i cant even pick them up im so scared and i really cant find a way to get over it. i got over my fear of bees, but wasps still scare me. it doesnt help that im allergic to some bugs like when i get bit by a maquito it gets bigger than a quarter. i just am not sure i will ever be able to get over my fear

We're going to make videos, do scrapbooking and of course, talk but what else can we do? It's super hot out so pretty much nothing outside. I don't have a DVR so no movies. and we're 14.
