I'm going to high school next year and need some help. My mom really wants me to do spanish, but i didn't want to do that in middle school, but had no option b/c french was cut out. My spanish teacher is horrible and ruined spanish for me, so i don't think i'll enjoy it if i go more advanced. I didn't really learn anything so it'll just be harder for me to go on, but my mom is practically guilt-tripping me into doing spanish. I just feel so mad that she's doing this b/c it seems like this happens to me every time i try to do something i want. Please help. I'm desparate....

 

Hey girlie. Try talking to her about it. Admit that it does make the most sense to take Spanish because of how many people who are speaking Spanish in the U.S. but at the same time your interest just isn't there. Tell her that you are more likely to do well in a subject that you enjoy rather than one that you dread.

Well the thing is that the church we go to is really new and doesn't have like any other teens (literally im pretty much the only one) so would it work to go to another churches youth group? Thank you!!

Please answer this! none of my "mod" questions get posted!
We go to a church that doesn't have a youth group, and I really want to go to a youth group, I think it would be a great experience. Would it work to go to a youth group of a church that you're not actually members at? And how do I Tell my mom that I want to be in a youth group, its not like theyre against it Im just not sure what my parents will think about it. MOD MOD MOD!!!!!!!!!!!




Hey girl, just ask your mom I'm sure she'd love the idea of you getting involved. Maybe you could even get a youth group started at your church! Talk to your mom about it. I'm sure she'd know a way. =]

MOD ok i am super interested in fashion and being a fashion desighner is my dream job and has been for a long long time my dream collage is FIDM and its in California i live in Flrida so basicly my only chance of going there is a scolarship anyway FIDM does this thing were u can start a FIDM fashion club at your high school bacicly we work all year on a couple of outfits ant then we have a fashion show SOUNDS AMAZING! but anyway if i start this club then i have a cance to win a full scholarship to FIDM but i am only a freshman and i dont even know if i can start a club or if any1 will b interested what should i do??? i dont really know any of the teachers ether:/ thxSmile

 

 

Hey girly girl, you should totally start it! I'm sure there are lots of girls who would be interested. Do you have a favorite teacher yet....or even one that seems really nice? How about an art teacher? Since fashion is an art! Or, you could request a meeting with your principal and tell them about the club and the scholarship. They can help you get started Smile

Please, I need help!
So, I have two options for highschool: let's just call them school A and school B. School A is really close to my house, convenient for my parents, and is known for it's good academics. Except, my mom says if I go to school A I have to be in a program that specializes in math and science. Not only am I not interested in math or science and not want to pursue it, only 40 people in the whole county can get into that program. School B has a program for Liberal Arts, which is my thing, but it's far away, and school B isn't as great overall and has more violence. What should I do? If I want to try to get into School A, I'll have to work insanely hard and will not have time to do things that I like.
PLEASE HELP MODS AND GL GIRLS!!!




Hey girlie,

This is a really personal decision, so I can't make it for you...what you should do is sit down with your parents and weigh out all of these pros and cons. Chatting with them might clear stuff up for you! Ultimately, you have to do what is going to make you happy and what is going to help you get further in the future. Good academics are important, but doing something that interests you and fulfills you is also important. Ask your parents if there is any flexibility with what you study at School A {are there other programs?} or if there are any schools in the area that combine the two for a more well-rounded experience. Take your time and weigh out all the options...it's a big decision!
