Autism is not a mental disease or an epidemic, contrary to what the greedy moneygrabbers at autism speaks say. i found out that a "charity" is really a hate group, and the worst part is MY FAMILY DONATED TO THEM!!!! They think a cure is a good idea. i wouldn't mid curing the sensory overload parts, but if you take autism out of a person, you wobn't get that same person back. you'll just have a normal person rather than the girl who is in accerlatd and pre-ap classes, writes for the school newspaper, co-advised the paper last year after saving it from disapearing, gets obsessed with whatever cause she is working on until she makes a change for the better, gets multiple songs stuck in her head at once, solves friends' offstage drama (unless her ideas are rejected), has enough quirks to be a fictional character,was nice enough to send an apology note for an incident involing listening to gossip, AND happens to have asperger syndrome. subtext:me. Nothing about us without us!!

I have a brother with a disability and I know everything is hard for him. But I would never change a thing about him cuz I love him to bits.
