Hey(: This summer i'll be moving to a bigger city. I'll be starting my freshman year of high school in a city where i don't know ANYONE. I'm nervous for the first time! Usually im super confident. People see me as the TTG. Advice for making the first couple days go smoothly? Thanks!

mod mod! hi my mom,aunt and gram have been talking and they want me to work at my aunts tourist shop in spain during the summer... im fourteen and very veryyyyy self conscious. but i sort of want to work there except i no most spanish so i might not understand ppl. im afraid that i will be a bad worker or not understand someone and give them bad service and again im verry selfconscious. should i work there? and wat should i do if i suddenly dont no wat theyre talking about? thnxx so much!!




Hey Girlie, you should definitely take this opportunity. You have time now to prepare you can also talk to your aunt and tell her how you are kind of scared, she can probably calm your fears

1. My freinds are all jealous of me because I have a huge house, and tons of clothes, and all the latest electronics. I don't brag about it; actually try to avoid it! My "friends" don't like me for who I am. Help!
2. I have this massive biting nails problem. They're so bad that the skin is red and swollen ariund it. Ive tried everything from taping them, wearing gloves, putting tabasco on the skin, and wearing anti-bite nail polish. My Dad hates to see them this way and so do I. How can I stop??? Thanx soo muchSmile




Hey girlie. For the first question, I will use myself as an example. In the 6th grade, I would always be called spoiled since I was able to receive more things than the other kids in my school due to my father having a better paying job. It gets tiring but sometimes all you can do is laugh at yourself with them. If they would laugh at me because I got a new bag, then I would laugh with them and beat them to the punch. "I know," I would say, "I'm just so spoiled!" A lot of people pick on others because they are jealous, but if you let that get to you then you are letting them win. If you don't let it get to you, then they have nothing against you.

As for the second question, it seems you have tried everything to help quit biting your nails but it hasn't worked. This mean it's not a habitual action and may be coming from emotional stress. Talk to a councilor or ask your parents if you can see a therapist since they will help you find the true cause of your nail biting. You have done the best you could with trying to stop the biting yourself, but you may now need some outside help to get you to stop doing this act before it leads to some serious health issues. Hey girl. Ask a friend to do one with you! That always helps me. Also write it down on a piece of paper and post it on your mirror or wall to remind yourself everyday.

When I started school I was a quiet girl that was serious about everything and got great grades. Now I am a very silly girl with only three to five friends (it depends how u specify them) but I hunk I mit be getting worse grades than before. I don't want to be lonely but I want to get good grades. I go to a private school and I don't think I would mind gout to a public school. If my brother were to get worse grades hen now.....I think we will be going to a public school. I am very worried about both things........grades and public school!




Hey girlie, you can be social and still get great grades. Spend more time on your schoolwork and a little less time with your friends. Public school isn't that scary. You'll adjust just fine and make lots of new friends.

mod!! i feel like i have no control over my life. it seems to be just passing me by and i dont know what to do. also school isnt fun...i know its only been a week but im a freshman in high school now. im taking some harder classes so most of my classes are with sophomores or juniors, and its hard to make friends. my best friends all have a different lunch, and the friends who are in my lunch are kind of annoying. and nerdy...which sounds mean but they are really obnoxious lately. so i really want to make friends but its so hard! a lot of classes i just cant wait to be over. i need help please!!! thanks!

 

 

Hey girly girl! You should join some activities or after-school clubs. Or, try out for a new sport, or the school musical. That way, you can make lots of new friends, and you'll have something to look forward to at the end of the day Smile
