I got my first period a few years ago, then I didnt get it again until a few months ago then I just got it for the third time IN MY LIFE this week... Is this normal????
I was worried before and I have posted more of these but I never got a response... Thanks

Hey honey, sorry you did not get a response. For irregular periods, you should consult with your doctor to explain the situation. He/she can give the best reasoning as to why this is occurring.

Mod I have had my period for about 3 years and I am not sexually active. It's been about 2 months since my last period. Is this normal?

Yep, this is pretty normal and is nothing to worry about. If you've changed your diet or exercise recently, that may have something to do with it.

MOD MOD MOD I've been having my period for about A year and a half and two weeks ago I had one and it's back again!!!! I'm scared. Whats wrong should I see a doctor or is it normal??????

Hey girlie! It is normal for that to happen sometimes, since periods can be affected by your environment or stress levels. Just keep an eye on this period, and if it lasts for more than a week, consult your doctor as soon as possible

MOD MOD MOD I have been on my period for 3 years now, and I have gotten it every month and it has been pretty regular. But I have now gone a month and a half with out getting my period, and I'm not sexually active. What should I do?

Hey girlie! Have you been losing a lot of weight lately? Usually when you lose weight at rapid speeds, you end up losing a lot of the nutrients that promote a healthy menstrual cycle. When I was in my junior year of high school, I had gone without my period for 3 months and I was still a virgin. I was a little freaked out, but then my doctor told me I was anorexic. Make sure you are not underweight for it could mean you are losing a lot of nutrients that are necessary to help your body function properly

MOD MOD MOD MOD i told my mom i had started my period and i thought i did but (what i thought i had) 2 periods it stopped my mom keeps asking if i need more i i always say the same thing "no"how do i tell my mom? thank you for your time

Hey girl, If you stopped having your period, I think it would definitely be good to talk to your mom.  You could bring it up sometime when you two are alone.  Or, next time you say "no," explain why.  Tell her you haven't had your period since whenever the last time was.  It may start up again, but it's good to keep your mom updated.  That way, if you need to check in with your doc, she already knows what's going on.  xoxo

I am exactly like this. I got mine in July and I had a normal period for a week. Then I got it again about 3 weeks later, maybe beginning of August, but it only lasted about 2 or 3 days. I havent had it since. So now it's been 4 months! I'm glad I read this though. It makes me less worried.

Hey, girlie! It's not unusual for girls to go a long amount of time without getting their periods when they first get it., so don't freak. If you think something may be wrong though, you can definitely go talk to a doc to make sure!

i got my period on my thirteenth birthday and it was normal for about half a year almost a year. then it stopped. its been a year and a bit and I'm 15 now and worried. i did tell my mom and we went and saw a doctor. i got a blood test and an ultrasound and the doctor said everything was OK. i tried to tell them i think something is wrong down there but for some reason they said it was OK. I still have full period symptoms and its like i have my period but its not red? even the discharge but not as much as a normal period? they said they might put me on birth control to get it started but I'm not sure? and there is no way anyone is looking down there. what should i do?

MOD!MOD!
Hi so I started my period last year in september, and then got it regularly every month up until July. I haven't got it since then, and it's freaking me out. I can't be pregnant, and I'm terrified of seeing a gynecologist. My mom says that I shouldn't ask those questions to a doctor, just because she's awkward with it. I can't even talk to her or my sister about it, but it's really starting to scare me because I get a lot of discharge and stuff...Help?

Hey girlie, if you haven't had any kind of bleeding then it might be a good idea to talk to a doctor and figure out what's going on. It might not be anything to worry about, but it's better to know for sure.

I got my first period almost 2 years ago and its still irregular but the strange thing is in the summer through september ive skipped my periods both years. I'm glad I get a few months off of periods as well as school but should I be scared?

Hey girl, no it does happen to some girls. It happens to a few of my friends. If you're worried, ask your mom to see a gynecologist. Just to make sure everything's alright. =] Nothing to worry about!

i got my period for the first time in june and it last 4 days, i got it again in july and that also lasted for days but I have not had it since& am now skipping 3 months,is this normal?

Hey chickie,

When our periods start for the first time, it's 100% normal for them to be totally irregular. It's annoying, but it's not weird at all! If you're concerned though, you can definitely chat with your doc and explain your situation to make sure things are progressing normally.

hey mod okay so its almost been 2 yrs since my period started and my period was supposed to come a few days ago AT THE LATEST, but it hasnt. and i think that this may be b/c skool started and im stressed (ish) and busy but i have no clue. i havent gotten myself pregnant or anythingat all so whats going on? im kinda freaked out. will it come or will i skip this month?

Hey chica! Lots of things, including stress, can totally affect your cycle. I wouldn't be worried just yet. Periods can be irregular. And you're probably just late. If you're not having sex, then I wouldn't worry about it. Smile

I've been on my period for a few years now, I was getting really bad cramps so I went on the pill. I've been off it now for a few months but the last time i had my period was over over a month ago. What's going on?

I first got my period 4 years ago and it's NEVER been irregular. I'm not sexually active. But this month, it's late. What's going on???

Hey girlie, it could be anything. Sometimes stress can affect your period or if there's something else unusual going on in your life right now that might be affecting your body. The good news is that you haven't been sexually active you can't be pregnant.

MOD
I started my period when I was 10 now I'm fourteen. The last time I had it was in July and I'm not sexually active. What's wrong?

Hey girl,

Sometimes the first few years of your period (I have heard up to five years) can be irregular. While it's probably normal, it seems a little weird that it stopped for that amount of time, so maybe you could call your doctor and check to see if she wants to see you for a follow up appointment. I wouldn't worry, but you might want to get it checked out just in case.

Thanks for answering my question. My friend is supposed to be on the birth control pill because I have seen them but I dont think she takes them when she is supposed to so that gets her upset when she doesnt get her period. And I think her mom does know she is having sex because that is how she got on the pill but I know she doesnt use condoms and I have told her just start using them and then she wouldnt have to worry as much, plus its extra protection. But I think she listens to her bf too much because he is 3 years older.

When it comes to periods and sex we learned that you can get preggers the first time but the average person gets pregnant after having sex 100 times.

by luckykel on 10/5/2010 9:25:08 PM

Hey my period is like that and I am not sexully active and I am only 14 and they put me on birth control to help me get my period more on a regular basic timing (once a month) Also you could have Poly Stic Overy Sydrome and that will give you an irregular period and you will have a harder time getting pergnet because your horemones and other things are all scewed up. But that is pretty rare. If you have any questions anyone ask me and I will try my best to answer them the best I can.

MOD MOD MOD MOD MOD MOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i have a medium to heavy flow, but just regular tampons hurt, all i want to know, is what brands tend to be a little bit smaller. and i cant use lites, because that's not enough. i was wondering if the "on the go" ones would be any smaller, or maybe kotex "click" but i dont know... plz help, and are the kotex click any good??? ive heard from someone that they're huge, but i wanted to know from someone at gl...

Hey girl, honestly I'm not really an expert: I don't use tampons. I use pads. I'd suggest checking out the packaging and experimenting: tampons at the end are essentially the same thing.

Mod mod modMod mod mod I have periods where close family members who died talk to me in dreams and I have visions of things that happened and such but in dreams I can't see them how can I control this happening my "mom" now says it's a gift and a curse and says she hopes I can learn how to use it but I only have it in periods of tome n it's out of my control do u have any idea ways I can control it and use it when I choose

Hey girl, you can't control dreams. Keep in mind it isn't your family members talking to you, it's your perception of their memory talking to you. For now, just rest as usual. If it starts to get really disturbing, talk to a counselor.

MOD MOD
What should someone do if they are very sexually active and are always concerned because their period is irregular? I have a bff that seems to go through this a lot. I get to hear how scared she is when she doesnt get her period but then it seems to work out for her. Its almost like she cries wolf and I am getting tired of hearing about it.
Is there something I should tell her? Should I mention that she should stop having sex for a while and then go to the doctor to see what her problem is?

Hey girl, tell her to talk to a doctor and to make sure she's using birth control or some contraceptive measure. Tell her it's important her parents know she's sexually active. It's better to make that awkward step now than tell them later in a worst case scenario she was when she's preggers.

Hey on oct.22 I'm going on a field trip with my class(we're all homeschooled). Idk how many people is going to be there because I'm not sure if both classes r going together. But, there's this guy I like that's going and I wanna know how I could flirt with him? I'm asking because his dad is one of the helpers going. I'm 12(gonna be 13 the 24th of this month) and he's 14. I know he doesn't like me but I just want him to. Sorry it was long.

Hey girl! Why don't you try sitting near him on the bus or hanging out with him during the field trip!
