MOD! Could you use almond extract instead of oil?
Thanks.

Hey girlie, you could try a different flavored oil, but since oil and extract have such different textures it'll need to be an oil to come out right.

can you use oranges in this recipe??

I don't see why not! But keep in mind that oranges have more juice than cranberries, so you might want to use less. Or you could use the cranberries but add a drop of orange extract, which will give it the scent and flavor without changing the recipe too much Smile

if I used strawberries instead... how many would I need?

Hey girl,

I'm not sure since this is a strawberry recipe, but I think 2 or 3 would be enough!

Hey Mspenguin76, yeah I'm sure its okay to replace the cranberries with strawberries, blueberries, or grapes. I would eat the ingredients before making the lipgloss lol, but I think it's okay to lick it off occasionally. Hope this helps! Xoxo

MOD! MOD! MOD!
Is this safe to eat? And can you replace cranberries with another fruit? And last, is there a way to make the color less bold? Lynae P.

instead of using cranberry....can i use a different fruit like straberries or rasberries?!
thanks;)

Totally could! Strawberries, raspberries, grapes, blueberries, blackberries, pears, peaches... as long as you mash it up and strain the bits of fruit left over, it should work. Just be careful if you use a fruit that gives off more juice than cranberries because that could mess with the texture Smile

MOD! MOD! MOD! Can I use olive oil insted of almond oil?

Hey girl,

If you're gonna substitute for almond oil, I would try vegetable oil instead. It doesn't have as strong a scent (and not that it matters since you're not cooking, but it has less of a strong flavor as well) Smile

plz answer this! OK so which drugstores can you get the empty bottles from b cuz i cldnt find them at rite aid and what is sieve??????????
SHANK U
oh and most of my comments dont even post!

Hey girlie,

You don't really want empty bottles - you want something more like a tube or round tin, like most lip balms come in. Try looking at craft stores or asking around at specialty makeup stores like Ulta or Sephora. And a "sieve" is like a strainer: it's usually a metal or wire device that has itty bitty holes in it, so it lets through liquid/fine bits and separates it from chunks, like the leftover cranberry Smile

Okkkay, some helpful comments-
1) Do not wear white, cranberries like to splatter.
2) The oil doens't mix with the water content in the cranberries. I ended up just pouring it out.
3) Don't apply this without a mirror. The color is hard to distribute. Just don't apply it without a mirror.
4) When you're pouring it throught the sieve, don't just scoop up what you think is liquid. Put it through the strainer. Guess who didn't and found a chunk on their lip?
5) I reccommend putting the petroleum jelly in. It also prevents me from being tempted to lick it off my lips (its so tasty.)
6) I still reccomend doing this... lots of fun (:

Hey girl!  I'm not sure since I haven't made it myself yet!  But since it's a gloss and not lip balm, I imagine it is supposed to be a bit liquid-y.  xoxo

I am really not sure about that — good point. Refrigerating it would probably be a good idea.

MOD MOD MOD
I took a few quizzes (example, what perfume fits you best?) some of the option were
a.) totally active
b.) chill
c.) outgoing
and throughout the quiz not once did I chose sporty (i just haven't found a goo sport yet) and then in my answer evaluation it says that I'm totally active an always playing a sport. I never got to read the rest of it because I was so confused!

Maybe the answers you picked were typical of a sporty girl, and that's why you got that description. Were these quizzes on the GL site? Keep trying other quizzes. Sometimes none of the results on a quiz fit you perfectly because everyone is different and it's hard to fit people into three categories. If you take another quiz, you'll probably find an answer that fits you better!

My friend is Asian and there is this girl who calls her Fortune cookie. She is funny but after a while her jokes become rude. One time she went up to a guy fron India and asked if his dad worked at Dunkin Donuts. HELP!! All my friends are saying to stay away from her but, well she's always calling me and making me laughSmile she said I was the coolest out of all my friends. But I don't want to be friends with someone who disses my friends!!

Hey! you can still hang with her just be sure to let her know when her jokes cross the line. good luck!
