Does it matter if you do muscle building exercises before cardio or should you do them after?


Hey girl!

You can do either muscle building or cardio first (there's no right/wrong way). However, cardio can warm up your body so that you stretch your muscles more during the second part of your work out. Good luck!

Hey chica! Eating is key too. You have to eat well. Try to avoid junk and soda, and instead, fuel up on water, protein and fruits and veggies Smile

It means repetition and if you do 3 reps of 10 situps that means you do 30 total with little breaks every 10

It actually hasn't been proven that a certain time of day is better for burning fat/calories. It all depends on when you feel the most energetic and active! Try all different times like early when you wake up, right when you get home from school, right before dinner, etc. to see which works best for you Smile

-i do all of these workouts except the bicycle and the side-plank and they do work. i have a four pack but i think im loosing it because i havent worked out in months but you can still see the outline or shape. so yeah they do help just do them regularly so they can make an effect.

I swim for a hour and a half five days a week. Over the summer I did three and a half hours of swim and half an hour of dryland(situps, pushups, running, ect.) five days a week my stomach never gets smaller though. I even tried doing a hundred abs a day everyday but after a month I lost motivation due to the lack of results. I just don't know what to do anymore, plz help.

I really want to lose some weigt but for me it is really hard. I can never stick to a plan and end up binging by eating everything in way to big portion size. I am trying to do it with my mom because she wants to do it too and I always feel so uncomfortable. I want to look and feel great in my dress when it comes to graduation and this is already putting me down!


Hey girl,

Don't focus on losing a certain amount of weight or getting to a certain weight number. Instead, just focus on being healthy. Instead of taking large portions, try to only take the amount you want to eat and put that on your plate. Then, tell yourself that you won't get seconds. You and your mom could also start taking walks, riding bikes or finding a type of exercise that you both like to do together.


Keep a calendar and make a plan for the types of exercise you want to do and when, and then each day, write down what kinds of things you eat and what types of exercise you do. Hopefully, having to write it down will make you a little bit more conscious about whether or not you're making healthy decisions. Good luck to you and your mom!

ok well i workout 2 times a week and i know i should be doing it everyday. I am going to florida in less than a month and i really want to be able to wear my bikini without feeling the need to cover up!!! Anyways i was wondering how long it took if i did all those workouts everyday and did them all them with the same amount of time as you said (EX: 10-15 secs)how long would it take to get flab abs? Hey girl, first of all, it varies for different people. I suggest to stay in shape in general, try doing some sort of cardio (running, dancing, walking) at least three times a week. You can also try talking to a coach at school about workouts you can do; make it a goal to get on the basketball team next year!

Hey girlie. Make sure to also do cardio workouts! We all have abs, but we must lose the weight covering them before they ever show! Running works really well because it gets rid of the stomach fat. If you run and do crunches, you are golden! Wait and see!

MOD MOD MOD MOD!!!! Well I am very healthy and always exercise when I can and I played field hockey and now I'm playing basketball. Well I try to work out every other day or when I don't have practice. I run for 45 minutes each run (but I add 5 minutes every week). My question is that now adays, well ever since I started working out like this, I am hungry every second of the day! like yesterday for lunch I had this english muffin pizza that I made THEN I was still hungry so I had some chicken and dumplings but I was still hungry but I thought to myself I should stop so I did. Then for dinner my mom was making chicken noodle soup but I was REALLY hungry when she started making it so I had a hamburger, and I still had a bowl of soup after that too. I've just been so hungry lately and I have't gotten my period this month and that usually happens whenever I exercise but I can't stop exercising because I like the way it makes me feel and I have to stay in shape for basketball. Thanks!


Hey girl, 

It makes sense that you would be hungrier if you're working out more, because your body needs to restore its energy. You do need to make sure that what you're eating is healthy and also that you're drinking lots of water. You certainly shouldn't stop exercising, but I don't know why you aren't getting your period when you are exercising. I don't think you have a problem, but you might want to ask a doctor if he or she has any comments about how much you should ideally be eating or why you aren't getting your period because of this. Congrats for exercising so much!

So I have a friend, we'll call her Anna, and she is dating this boy, we'll call him Jake. Anyways, Iwas friends with Jake before he started dating Anna, and ever since Anna and him have started dating I have become even better friends with him because we all hang out together sometimes. Well I KNOW that Jake doesn't like me and I DEFINITELY don't like him but we've been texting for two days straight and I'm worried my friend will find out and think that something is going on between us (which there is not). I love these moves! This is my 3rd time doing the whole set. I dont do the side plank or six inches though. I do the bicycle to "Check it out" by Nicki Minaj, which is a 4 minute song! These moves get you pumped! Good way to get some abs(:

this new guy stares at me in class and always is trying to make me laugh. and also i asked some people if they will vote for me in student council and he said, "anything for the lady." i think he likes me but my bestie likes him because he's nice. he's not really... cute and my bestie is obssesed about him. she thinks he's nice and funny, but i think he likes me. so question number 1... could he like me? and 2... if he does, should i ask him if he likes me? and 3... if he does like me, do you think my bestie will try to be better than me? cause once i told her he stares at me in class and how he replied when i asked him if he was gonna vote for me for student council, and she said, "he stares at me too and i know he'll vote for me in student council because he likes me and i can tell."
I really don't want our friendship to come to an end over a boy! thanks for the help!

1. He may like you but there arnt enough signs for me to be sure. 2. As for telling him i would say no. Even if he did like you, you shouldnt tell him. gaining muscles helps you burn fat, so if you do this often basically you will be gaining muscle whille you burn fat. I just tried it and now I feel pumped! Smile

You could also do crunches and work on cardio exercises like jogging or walking.

im confused on how to do the vertical leg crunch? how do u cross your u just cross your whole leg? and then what?

I'm not exactly sure about the knees, but I don't really think it's possible to cross your knees, so you are probably supposed to cross your ankles with your knees touching. While laying on the floor, you're supposed to lift up your shoulder blades while "flexing" the muscle in your abs so that you can work them more.

These moves sound great, but if you just do moves that flatten your stomach, all that will happen is you will gain muscle underneath the fat already there.
