I really want a facebook to keep in touch with some friends, but every time i bring it up my parents get angry. they think someone will stalk me or something if i get a facebook. how should i approach the topic??




Hey girl, tell them that on Facebook, you can use privacy settings to keep your Facebook visible just to your friends. Create your account and set up your privacy settings with them so they can see no one else can see your personal info.

I totally agree. I'm 10, and my dad blocks A LOT of stuff! It totally drives me crazy! I really sick of it. Sometimes I wish my dad wasn't so paranoid! Seriously!I really get tired of opening a web page and seeing "Website blocked by parental controls. Click to add website. Administrator name and password needed." I'm really tired of it!

I know how that is. It sucks. But ever since we changed our browser my rents seemed to have forgotten about the blocks. It was so flippin annoying when I would go to a perfectly clean site and all I saw was "This site has been blocked by the parental controls" glad I don't have that problem anymore..

MOD my dad told me a while ago that he is going to stop paying for my phone when the contract runs out. that's really bad because then my mom will have to pay for it, and we don't have enough money (my parents are divorced, and i live with her.) I overheard her talking to my aunt saying that if that does happen, i'd have to choose between a cell phone and dance classes. and i don't want to make that decision. i havent told my mom that my dad really is taking my phone away, because she will be fuming, but i know i should do it soon. im also considering helping pay for it, now that i have a job after school even though i dont get alot of money, but every bit counts. i DONT want this to end up being a burden. what should i do? should i tell her right away?

 

 

Hey chica! Maybe, you could offer to help your dad pay for your phone. Or, talk to your mom about it and offer to pay for some of it. There are plenty of cell phone plans out there that aren't too much money!

I would hate that. My parents dont block anything and ever since I got a computer in my room, I thought they would but my mom has only talked to me about it. I am kind of surprised because my mom knows how easy it is to see very inapro things, and we even talked about how just typing words like 'hot guys' or 'cute hunks' could show more than just that but my friends and I still do it.

I do have friends with parental blocks on their computers and tvs and they hate it and a lot of them try to find ways around the blocks. Some of them do and some dont, but I did have a friend who didnt have the blocks and then her younger sister got caught looking at bad things, so now all the computers have blocks.
