Im going to summer camp on Sunday and We swim everyday. I've only had my period for six months and I'm not sure about tampons. I'm 14 btw. Unfortunately I'm on my period the whole week of camp. What should I do? I'm driving myself crazy and my mom really isn't the talking type. Any advice?




Hey girl, you have two choices: you can use tampons or can stick to pads. If you use pads, just explain the case: you can't swim for that reason. Girls generally accept it. If it's a guy, however, and you're not comfy saying that (I don't blame you), you can always say you just aren't feeling well enough to swim either. Trust me, the last thing any camp counselor would want is someone to get sick in the pool. They should be happy to let you sit out!

i wrote my mom a letter saying i wanted to use tampons.It just so happened that i had a doctors appointment the next day so she said we'll ask the doctor.The doctor said they were fine as long as you change them frequently.Then she said she'll think about it.How long do you think that'll take?(its been a day and a half)

Um I keep a tampon and pad in my pack back for school but how would I reach my pad/tampon if I have my period?(at school)
And uh, whenever I wear tight/long pants I discharge ALOT! Why does this happen and how can I prevent this? Thanks...<3333




Hey girlie. You would just walk over to your backpack and sneak one into your hand or put it in a pocket. Or you could carry a purse and have them in there. As far as discharge, you can't prevent it- it's a natural thing. You can wear pantyliners to keep you dryer though!

Just ask. That's what I did.I just bluntly said "Mom, the next time I'm on my period, can I try tampons?" No sweat. She's been through it all before, and is likely still going through it. Smile

for me the best way to ask for tampons was to wait until i knew she was out shopping and then called her and asked her to pick me up some. that way it wasnt as askward cuz i didnt have to look her in the eye.

mod Mod MOD!!!!!!! i just got my period for the first time today in school. i didnt hav a pad or anything, so i used toilet paper. also, i was wearing white undies, so my mom will prob see the stain wen sshe does laundry. i dont no how to tell her that i just started cuz shes mad a lot. i need some pads or tampons cuz i cant go to gym with toilet paper. also, the first day of gym is TOMORROW!!!!! help!!!!

 

 

Hey girly girl! You should definately tell your mom. She won't be mad at you. Periods happen to every girl, and there's nothing you can do to prevent that. So, it's nothing to be ashamed or embarrassed about. I would stop at your nurse's office tomorrow when you get to school. The nurse should be able to give you a pad until you and your ma can go shopping.

Hey girlie,

If you can't ask mom face-to-face, writing a note/email/text is definitely a good way to do it! Just say, "Hey Mom! I'm gonna get my period soon and I was wondering if I could try tampons this time? Let me know! Love you!" Keep it short and sweet, then see what she says. She might ask you why you've decided to use them now; she might ask if you have a tampon preference; and she might also ask you to wait a little while til you've had your period for longer. But if you're really committed to trying tampons, stick with it and you'll get to use them soon! Smile

Modmodmodmod ok so I've been using tampons behind my moms back for the past period and a half and I've run out of tampons I'm only 12 so I can't like go to target and buy myself some cuz I'm broke and how would I get ther????!!! So any ways last time I asked her if I culd get some she said no I asked her why very politely and she said kinda rudely bcuz ur too young and I told starting to get a littl mad no I'm not ik people hu started using them wen she was nine and on her first period ( I'm on my 6th ) then she said we need to talk to ur doctor and I rolled my eyes and asked y she didn't reply!!! Do you know to ask her???!! Pppppllllzzzz help modmodmodmod

Somedays I wake up at 1:00 pm and im still tired after i went to bed at like 6:00 pm! I also have alot of cramps and headaches. For the past month i have been having REALLY BAD acne breakouts. Its been 2 years exactly since my breasts have started growing its also been 1 year and 11 months since i've started having discharge. Its been getting heavier to. About 3 months ago i hit my growth spurt and i've already grown like 9 inches(and im not kidding)! From the information i have i think im about to start my period but im not for sure. Help Please ASAP!

 

Hey girlie. First off, there is a thing called over-sleeping where you sleep for too many hours and wake up feeling extremely tired. Make you get 8 to 9 hours of sleep a night, but anything more will hurt you more than help you. It sounds like your period is coming. Be patient!
