Just ask. That's what I did.I just bluntly said "Mom, the next time I'm on my period, can I try tampons?" No sweat. She's been through it all before, and is likely still going through it.

for me the best way to ask for tampons was to wait until i knew she was out shopping and then called her and asked her to pick me up some. that way it wasnt as askward cuz i didnt have to look her in the eye.
