I am 13 and have got braces two days ago. I don't look much differnet apart from when I smile.There is a guy that I majorly like and I think he might like me too. Having braces will I still be able to get a boyfriend? What do guys think about girls with braces and are they ok with it?

MOD!Okay. So I think this guy is really cute and I'm attracted to him, so I've asked around, and I heard that he's really nice. So I wanna get to know him. PROBLEM! Never talked to him. How can I talk to him, especially when he sits on the other side of the classroom? My friend sits close by, so when we work together there's oppotunity, but I am not sure what to say. I don't want to weird him out by just randomly popping up and saying hi. I don't want to come on too strong, especially since I'm a freshman and he's a sophmore. I don't want to be that annoying freshman. HELP!

Hey girl, why not ask him to join your group and work with him? Introduce yourself and just treat him as if he's someone you want to be friends with. When you focus on that small stepping stone (instead of making him your BF) it takes the pressure off and makes things easier. Start with small strides.

please help! ive been crushing on this guy in my english class for MONTHS now and whenever we talk he always ends up walking me to my locker even though its past his. i cant tell if he likes me and im really trying to ask him out but every time i do my mind creates a scenario with him answereing "i dont really know you that well so why on earth would i go out with you?" (even though hes not that kind of guy) and i chicken out. im so lost its not even funny. please help! how can i ask him out without freaking out?

Hey girlie. It's hard--I mean it's nerve racking to ask a guy out. But you say that you keep imagining him saying the worst thing possible, but what if he says, yes? What if he says how happy he is that you asked because he was too nervous to? Think about the good possibilities! Be confident in yourself and just ask him if he wants to hang out so you two can get to know one another better. Would you rather go through life never knowing?

My ex and I went out, broke up, then got back together. But, even though we said we were going to try to be friends, we don't talk at all. It really stinks because I don't want to date but I do want to be friends. It's like I'm invisible. What can I do to make him talk to me? Help!!!!

Hey chickie,

Being friends with an ex is some tough stuff - trust me, I've tried to do it too. But he might need time right now to move on, so don't force it. You have a lot of history and it does take time for the breakup to seem less "fresh" or recent. Slowly, you can try getting in touch with him - ask him how he's been and have a short convo but again, don't force it. You'll build up your friendship again soon enough, but remind yourself to give him space and pace yourself first.
