Okay so i HATE having my period is there any way to make it better?

Hey girlie! Here are a couple of ways to help make your period more bearable. First, a healthy diet filled with plenty of fruits and vegetables plus water. Also partake in regular exercise, even it just means a nice long walk, in order to boost up endorphins (the body's natural pain killers). You can also engage in stress reducing activities such as yoga, massage and meditation

MOD MOD MOD! Okay so I am 11 years old and I don't have my period yet, but I usually get discharge almost every day for about 4-6 months now. But yesterday, 2 days ago, and about 4 days ago the discharge has been more gooey and stretchy and ropey. I know, gross. I heard this stuff could mean I'm ovulating. Plus, yesterday morning before school, I have a pain way down low in the right side of my stomach. Does this mean I am going to start my first period soon? I have started growing boobs and pubic hair about 2 1/2 years ago... so I'm afraid it is my period. But I'm not sure. Please help!! Thanks <3

Hey girl, it could be but it's hard to say. Give it a couple days and see what happens. Be sure your discharge doesn't smell too off too: if it has a cheesy smell and weird consistency, it could be the sign of an infection (eck!)

Mod mod mod soõ I've been verry mood swingy or I get really upset and mad and like jelouse easly. But ya I've meen getting mad really quick like today my mom was telling me that my room wasn't cleen but I cleaned it yesterday so I ignored her. Then later she came back and started telling me to g cean my room so I fot really mad and started yelling that I cleaned it the day before now I feel bad and I don't want any of this o happen again but what dod I do to calm my emotions Tuanks in advance

Hey girl, I'm so sorry to hear about the mood swings.  Unfortunately, that can be one of the downsides of going through puberty.  If you feel yourself about to blow, take a few deep breaths and count to 5 before you say anything.  That will give you a sec to cool down and choose your words carefully.  Try to do things to help yourself de-stress, like by eating healthy, working out, and doing things you enjoy to relax.  And when you do get harsh with someone, let them know you are sorry.  Also, consider reaching out to someone (like your mom) to tell them what you are going through.  They may not be able to change it, but having support can help.  xoxo

I'm 13 and I haven't had my period, but I have been showing signs that it is coming. How can I be prepared and am I late because most of my friends have started already?

Hey girl,

No way, you're not late at all! Sometimes girls get their periods early at 10 or 11 years old, but some girls get it as old as 16! It'll come when your bod is ready, so try not to compare yourself to your besties Smile You can't figure out exactly what day/month/year you'll get your period, but you can still be prepared. Carry a change of undies and a pad at the very bottom of your purse/backpack. That way, if you get it at school or somewhere else and aren't expecting it, you'll have all the supplies you need to stay fresh and clean til you can get home.

Please help!I have all of the symptoms of a period coming.I was wondering how will I know I got my period? Will I feel as if I wet my pants?Or will i not notice? Also will it be easily seen on my underwear?
Sorry if these questions are wierd or personal!
Thanks sooo much!

Hey ZZ,

Nope - not too weird or too personal Smile we're here for any type of question! As for your period, yes you will feel a little wet in your underpants probably and you will definitely see it in your underwear. Usually periods start off light and brown, then progress to heavier and red. You'll probably catch it in its brown phase - just throw those undies in the wash and throw on a pad with a clean pair to stay fresh!

Mod mod mod
ok I'm tottally cofused I started getting headches and acne in 5th grade and also started to discharge and I'm in 7th grade now so what does this mean?? Ok I have heard that u might start ur period the same age ur mom did is it true??? Thanks

Hey girlie,

Nope! You might start it at the same age as mom, but that'll only be a coincidence. You're your own person and will start whenever your own body is ready Smile As for the other stuff...that's great you've shown signs of puberty. That means you're well on your way to your first period! But unfortunately, you can't tell exactly when that first period will be. It could be next month or it could be a couple years from now! Just try to stay prepared (have pads at home and know what to expect) and relax in the meantime <3

How do I know my period is coming? I had my first period on Dec. 10th and it's probably not regular yet and I don't want to be caught off guard, so how do I know it's coming?

Hey Girlie, most likely you will have swollen breasts and some discharge. just pay close attention to your body.
