ok so i am pretty sure my mom got hers when she was 13 and i am turning 12 in may and my friend says that you get your period a year before your mom will i get mine soon/is this true?

We arnt allowed to carry our backpacks around anymore, and there are always people in the halls so i can't get to my locker. but I just stick them in my bra... Smile

 MOD! OMG! I have all of these symptoms! Ahh! Well umm my school just lost our study hall and now our teachers got more strict. We are not allowed to go to the bathroom in class and we are not allowed to carry purses or go to our locker! What if I am on my period and I have to tell my guy teacher?!? I am so scared because I can't stop at my locker or anything! Help!




 Wow, chica. I'm sorry your school is being so strict. You have a few options. It's really not fair that girls can't carry around purses, so I'd bring that to the attention of your teacher and express to them that you want to be prepared for you period. Believe me, they will understand. Even if you have to tell your guys teacher, don't worry. He knows all about girls getting their first period, so I'm sure he'll understand. If rules don't chance though, you can start wearing sweatshirts or some other type of shirt with pockets and stick a tampon/pad in there. That way you'll always have one with you.

My school gym class just started this semester and it is the first year that we are required to change for workouts on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I haven't gotten my period yet for this month and it should come tomorrow or Wednesday. I am really worried about changing because the ages are 12-13 and some of the girls don't have their periods yet. I have tried tampons and they make me really dizzy so that doesn't work, and I don't want to leak. What should I do? Especially because I don't have it yet, what if I get it and I don't notice until I am changing? Please help!!!




Hey girl,

Easy fix! Try heading to the bathroom before you change - that way, you'll notice before you're changing and won't be embarrassed. If you already have your period and you're wearing a pad, just change quickly and don't act suspicious or awkward. No one will notice Smile

Hey girl,

Our periods start off pretty light and get heavier as the days pass, so it's possible that you might not see any brown/red for a little while. Don't sweat it!

The principle at my school will possibly be taking away our ability to carry purses at all (im sorta freaking out...) where should i put tampons or pads? p.s. i cant ly put them in my pocket, b/c if teachers think u have something in your pocket they will make u show them to make sure its not a phone. Help!

Do you have a locker? Stash 'em in there and then just make a pitstop before you use the bathroom! Or you could keep them with the school nurse - I'm sure she'd be happy to help ya out Smile
