ugh, in math our teacher makes us work in partners and I hate it. It just confuses me and i never have a clue what my partner is talking about.

Thanks Marie H! I know I should tell her but I'm afraid she'll get weird about it. I was sick today, so I didn't get a chance to talk to her about it. I emailed her asking her how she thinks we should finish it, but she hasn't gotten back to me. I'm not sure if I'll be in school tomorrow, so I honestly have no idea what to do. I'm thinking about having my mom email my teacher, and just explaining that I want to do the project, but it's hard because she can't work outside of school. Plus I was sick, so I hope she understands. My teacher knows that I'm a good student, so I wouldn't normally be in this situation. I never let things go until the last minute! But if I am better tomorrow, I'm going to talk to my friend and explain that I want to get the project done. And since it's the end of the year, we probably won't have to do another project.

MOD MOD MOD!!! I am doing a project with one of my friends, but the problem is that her parents are super strict so they won't let her get together with people to do stuff. Even though it's school related, they don't want her to. Also, when we have time to work on it in school, she takes control and won't listen to what I have to say. One time we were paired to do a project and she was really busy after school that day so I offered to finish it. I emailed her the finished document, but the next day she comes in and she re-wrote the whole thing! It's almost like she's afraid of my work. And I'm not trying to sound mean, but I'm an overall better student, so sometimes I think we could get better grades with my ideas. But when it comes to stuff like homework, she always wants to copy mine! It confuses me! I don't want to hurt her, but I don't want my grades to suffer either! Please help!

 

Hey chica!  Wow, that is frustrating I'm sure!  Maybe you guys should split up the project, if that's possible.  If you have your own parts to work on, you won't have to worry about her changing your stuff or setting up extra times to meet.  If it continues to be a problem, you should talk to her about it.  Let her know pretty much what you told me - that you get frustrated when she changes your work, because you're part of the group, too.  Hope that helps! i just finished my group project and i got paired with the really smart dorky kid....everyone went i feel bad for u....he did all the work i just sat there.....it really wasnt that bad except he just talks a little too much about stuff i dont know about!

This as happened to me waaaaaaay too many times!!! I like to get things done because I hate getting stressed out and I get stressed out easily. I'm also the kind of person who likes to know what's going on and I like things done a certain way, so I usually prefer to work alone. But I'll definitely remember these tips when I have to work with a partner!

ha ha yeah right when get paired with someone i dont like r someone i know will do a bad job i just do all the work myself they are happy cuz they dont do anything and i am happy cuz i get an A+ Everybody Wins!!!! YEAHHH

once, i had 2 do this huge social studies project. my teacher paired me up with this guy who almost fails every class, and this kid with special needs (but he is nice, and at least tries), and I did all of the work, and we still got an A, but barely.
