MODMODMOD when do you think is an ok age to start dating? my mom says like 14 or 15 years old...do you think thats reasonable? Im almost 12 1/2. I would like to start earlier but i don't want to behind my mom's back, so should i stick to her rules?




Hey girl,

  It's tough to say when the best age to start dating is, because everyone feels comfortable doing it at different times and parents have a lot of say in this decision. If your mom doesn't want you to date until later, then you should respect that. However, see if going on group dates with girls and guys is OK with her. That would give you some experience in the dating department but because there's more people, it may make your mom more comfortable.  Good luck! x0x0

Hey girl, I think the biggest problem with an age difference like that is college. This guy has graduated most likely; you're just about to start. He's going to find his first job; you're going to take your first college class. But overall, I'd suggest just being yourself. You shouldn't have to change yourself for this guy. Try hanging with him one on one and hint you're interested.

Hey girly! It's totally normal to freak out and clam up around guys. But, you have to remember that they're just like us! They get nervous too! And sometimes, they're too scared to talk to us, so we have to make the first move. I'd just try to find common ground with guys. Joke around with them. Ask them questions, to get to know them and show you're interested. The more they talk to you, the more they should see how fabulous you are! And, the easier it will get for you to talk!

Hey chica, I guess it depends why he won't ask you out.  Of course, you could go ahead and ask him out yourself, but if you're shy I imagine that doesn't sound like the best option!  I think it would be great, though, if you took some initiative to move things forward.  You could invite him to hang out with you and your friends, or exchange numbers if you haven't done that yet.  Something simple like that will show him you're interested, and may give him the courage to go for it and ask you out if he was hestiating before.  xoxo

If this doesn't sound plausible, try talking to him about it, as well as your friend (if not to just get things off your chest).

Hey girl. I don't there is a specific age that categorizes when you are qualified to date or not. If you're into a guy and you are interested in maybe going on a date, agree on somewhere very casual so that you both feel comfortable. Maybe you guys could go to a movie? I just got my first boyfriend. I'm 16 & he's a year older. We've only been dating for a week, but I feel like our connection is a 6 on a scale of 1-10. He tried to kiss me yesterday, & I told him I wasn't ready. He said it was fine, but he's probably going to try it again another time. The problem is, I feel like I don't want him to be my first kiss. He's great & all & I want to kiss him, just not as my first. I feel like I'm just settling for a 6 because I've never had a boyfriend before. Don't get me wrong, he can be really cute & stuff, but I just always hoped my first kiss would be with someone I had a 10 connection with. Is that realistic? The sad part is that I considered breaking up with him (yes, after a week) & after thinking of what to say so I felt like I had an out & I wasn't trapped...I didn't feel bad. I mean I felt a little bad, because I know he likes me & all, but I felt more bad for my family & friends, because they seemed so happy for me. What do I do?

Okay so I was spending the night at my good freinds house adn we were talking to our good guy freinds Jake*, Max*, and George*. And we called them several times to talk and they called us and we chatted and just talked with them for a while. But at the same time I was also txting Jake* and he txted me basically askin me if i wanted to pull and all nighter and I said no, but he said i had said yes over the phone when I hadn't. So I told him i wouldn't stay up that late so he said he would go to bed, so it seemed like he wouldn't stay up if I wouldn't either so I don't know if he likes me or not. MOD MOD MOD srry this might be kinda long. theres this guy i really like and all my firends think he likes me back. he always jokes around with me, gave me a nickname tht only we would understand, and he would sit next to me in french. one of my friends asked if he liked me and he said no. he stopped talking to me for 2 days and doesnt sit next to me in french anymore. everythng has gone back to normal and my friends think he was lieing about not liking me. at our school dance, i was gonna ask him to dance but he was dancing with this girl all night and they were holding hands. He would always dance near my group of friends and walked past us a couple times. i thought i kept seeing him look over at me but im not sure. then when i was leaving he was walking out and i looked back at him. our eyes met and i feel like he looked sorry or like he wanted to talk. I just looked away and walked. Do u think he likes me and was trying to make me jealous or should i just try to get over him?

 

 

Hey girly girl! It's definately possible that he was lying to your friends, however for now, I'd play it cool with him. In case he actually doesn't like you, I'd act off of that. Talk to him and laugh with him, but I'd just think of him as a friend for now...

MOD Ok so I've been together with this dude for almost 4months now. Just need advice? I guess. It's spring break and we gotta hang out, right ?! His mom usually doesn't let him hang out unless its more of a party...or so he says. But finally a week before spring break started, he called me up and said that me, him and his best friend have to all hang out together over break. I was super excited! But then one day when we were texting, he told me that his best friend is in Utah...for the whole spring break. I told him 'aw! wait so that means we can't hang out, the 3 of us !' sent that to him, thinking he was going to tell me something 'well then that leaves it just us two' ...I was wrong.Don't know what I was thinking there haha. All he said was 'yup. maybe next break haha.' ! NExt break ??! He knows that the next break we have, I'll be gone for 2 years! Oh, and his 'best friend' is a girl...so I'm guessing he just wanted to chill with her? ugh... :/

Ok so Ive liked one of my really good guy friends for awhile. I started liking him when everyone started mentioning what a great couple we make when my crush and i are both there which is kinda awkward. so thers this guy i really like in my bio class. he's a grade higher than me (i tested out of my science class so i got to move up to that class). It seemes like he flirts with me in class but i dont really see him outside of class. He sits right behind me (by choice)and always jokes around with me and he makes me smile and laugh. when we have assignments in class we always work together with a few of our other friends. Also one time, my grade had to go to school for testing and he didnt so he told me he would dream about me, but he said it kinda jokingly/playfully. I dont know if he likes me or if hes just being nice. the other problem i have with this guy is that Im friends with his sister. Im not super close with her but we have a few classes together, we play tennis together, and we've hung out a few times and Ive spent the night at her house. Idk if i should just give up on him because of this. i dont want it to be wierd for my friend but i realllly like him!

Mod Ok so I really like a guy who's in my grade and in about 4 classes with me . He's super nice to me and teases me . And yesterday he said he saw me in his dream . So then he said he's asking someone else out soon to my friend . But then there's this other guy who I really like too . He's nice not as good as the other guy I just started to like him 2 wks ago the other one I've liked him 2 yrs . Hey girl, it may just be you reading too much into nothing. He may just mean to be friends with you: take it on face value until he says something that indicates more. It's very easy to mistake an interest in having a friendship with what you want to believe is an interest in being something more.

So there's this guy who REALLY likes me, but he has a GF. The thing is he asked me if I liked him and I said kind of. Which was true. Later on I realized I didn't have anymore feelings for him but he's gaining more and more feelings for me. I'm going to Vermont with her and her family for four days this week (we're on vacation), and I was just wondering what to do when we start talking about singing and acting, how to direct the convo a different way? I really opened up to him, and I think I still have an emmotional attachment to him, and i don't know what to do!! I honestly think I've wokred myself into depression! Hey girly! This guy sounds like an absolute jerk. I know it's hard to see now, but trust me... you're way better off without him. I'd avoid him as much as possible, and delete his number from your phone. Delete him from facebook too. Anything to get your mind off of him! Keep yourself busy and lean on your fam and friends for support.

MOD MOD MOD okay so 3ish weeks ago I became friends with this guy on facebook who I was in a play with like 5 years ago, and he has been texting me ever since. He told me he really wanted to dance with me at the next church dance and when I couldn't go he got really sad and told me he was hoping I would go. He also told me he really liked talking to me, but I figured out he just broke up with his girlfrind. Do you think he maybe likes me? Don't be nervous about it! Trust me, just be yourself--wear something comfortable and always remember to smile.  Be respectful and give some genuine compliments about something you love (their decorations, their house, the food).  If your bf loves you for who you are, I'm sure they will too Smile Good luck girlie!

i really like this guy. he's my best friend. but he's kind of different than the other guys in my class... it's kind of weird. he's not into sports and video games and whatever else guys usually like. he's really smart and gets straight A's and stuff. he likes cars. lol. he's not a nerd, but a few people in my glass think he's gay. i know he's not. he likes me back too, and we text every day. only 3 people in my class are going to the high school i'm going to next year, and he's one of them. we already have a lot of the same classes picked out. we were talking about classes today, and i said what if out classes are in different semesters or whatever, and he was like well then we'll get through it Smile. we talk like we're kind of a couple, but we're not! (yet).... how do i hint to him more that i like him? i'm not leaving him a cheesy note or anything, we're not like that.. i dont know, i'm just confused. Tong what do i do?

When you like someone, your actions should surely show it.  Do some sweet and considerate things only for him that you know he'll love--like bake him some of his favorite cookies or make something really artsy for him.  Find more ways to hang out with him too!  I'm sure he'll pick up the signs sooner or later Smile

You should talk to your bf and see if there's a way you can change his mom's mind about how she feels about you!  Try to find a chance to talk to her or have a meal all together and show why you think you are a good fit for her son! Don't try to sneak behind her back to see--it'll just make matters worse.  Try to figure out what the root of the problem is!

Sometimes you can think someone is attractive, but you are not necessarily attracted to them in a bf/gf way.  He probably thinks you're awesome and loves hanging out with you, but he's just not wanting to be more than friends.  Just learn to appreciate what you guys have!

modmodmodmod~~theres this guy i like and we were walking into class and it was just the two of us(the teacher wasn't even there yet)and he held the door open for me so i made a grand entrance w/random sound effects. he was laughing and then reminded me we had a test. so we were talking about the test and we were both laughing/smiling when my friend came in and started talking about it w/ us. then he got really quiet. then the next day i was walking and he was coming from the other direction when a gum container came flying in front of me and he quick kicked it just out of my way. then i was sitting with my other friend and he came and we all started talking and my twin and i have a contest to see who we can get to join each side for our own war-thing and he said he would join mine. me and him were joking around about it the next day when he helped pick up a pile of rulers i dropped. my friend keeps saying that we were flirting. is she right and he also likes me or what? thanks!
