hey girls! i got a great idea! why don't you start a 'business' in your driveway/frontyard? it could be; lemonade stand, duct tape wallets, bake sale, or anything you are good at! good luck chicas!

MOD! Hey, I'm an animal lover and I have a ton of animals I take care of at my house. I have a bunny who had babies about 4 weeks ago. I know when I can sell them and seperate them from their mom but I was wondering how I could get the word out. Lucky me they are super cute and I live on main street. Thanks Smile Oh, and If you know anything about it, how can I question them to make sure they are ready for a commitment like that? Thnks

Hey babe. You can post an add in the paper "Adorable Bunnies to a Good Home" or something like that. there is also craigslist and putting signs on street poles. Good Luck!

mod mod mod!
ill be getting out of school soon, and i realy want to get a good summer job. i already have people i babysit for too. i really like the outdoors and stuff like that. i also like animals. so, do you have any suggestions for some good summer job ideas for a 12 year old? thanks alot in advance!!

hey girl,

it is definitely difficult to get a job at your age, so babysitting is definitely a great start.  I would suggest getting a lot of volunteer experience that may lead to jobs in the future--if you like outdoors, see if you can help out at a park or at summer events.  Gaining experience is definitely important for your future.  You can also try to make and sell things to friends and family if you are crafty...talk to your parents and see if they can help you in any way!

mod mod mod!!!
ok, so i will be geting out of school in june and i was thinking about getting a good summer job to make some money. im only 12 so i dont really think i can get an "actual" job, but i want a simple one. i already have people i can babysit for too. so, could you give me some good summer job ideas? i can pretty much get used to anything, and i really enjoy the outdoors and stuff like that. also, do you know if there are any places a 12 year old can sell artwork? because i really enjoy making art- and im pretty good at it, i am told. thanks so much in advance!!

hey girlie,

i'm glad you are interested in making the most out of your summer!  if you are interested in selling artwork, check and see if there are local music or summer festivals in your town where you can set up with booth with your parents.  Also, you can sell handmade things at a site called Etsy.com.  You may need your parents to set up an account for you--but they can help you get started with everything.  It's a great place for selling things! Good luck, and I am glad you enjoy making art! I do too Smile

Im trying to find a summer job so I can save up money to go on a trip next spring but I can't find a place that would hire a 14 year old. I would babysit but everyone i know who needs a babysitter already has an older chind to look after the younger ones so i need to find a job fast help!

MOD MOD MOD MOD MOD!!!!
I want to babysit but I don't know how to get started. Also, I don't know if people would let me. I look a lot younger than I really am and it's not that I'm just not responsible...I totally am. I'm turning 13 at the end of the month and most people have older kids to take care of the younger or don't have younger ones at all. Please help!

Hey girlie. Talk with your parents first off. They may know people who need babysitters. Also, check with other family and your neighbors. Word of mouth is the best! Good luck.

MOD MOD MOD!!! Help! I'm 13 (turning 14 in September) and I really want to get a job this summer. However, I'm an only child, straight-A student and very mature for my age and I think a job other than babysitting would be better for me. I'm Red Cross-certified and am good with kids, but I'm ready for an actual job. Is there anything I can do?

Hey chica! Most jobs, you have to be at least 16. I'd check around with your neighbors though and see if they have any odd jobs for you... like gardening, or dog walking! Smile

I just got a summer job but I am not sure if I should accept or not. I've been asked to babysit a 7 year old Monday to Friday from 7-4:30. I've done this type of part time work before. It seems pretty demanding, but I don't know...should I accept!?!?!?!

Hey girl,

It's up to you. Would you really love the money? Can you wake up that early? Are you going to want to do other things with your summer? Could you negotiate some vacation time so you aren't burned out by the end? Just carefully consider your goals for the summer and see if this job fits into that <3

***MOD***
I really want a job. (I'm turning 14 in June.) Problem is, everyone I know has a baby and/or dog sitter and/or a mother's helper, I'm not very patient with crafts, and I really don't want to be a dog walker- I already have two to take care of! I'm really good/patient with people, I am a good actress (I don't know if that matters or not, I thought I might throw it out there just in case), am a pretty good singer (I'v sang at Veteran's Day concerts in miliatary camps), am good with kids, and am a hard worker. Can you think of any paying jobs that would be right for me? I'd love it if you'd comment back!
Love,
Maria

Hey girl,  I'd suggest babysitting — it sounds like you have the skill set to be a lot of fun with kids and responsible.
