I have the same problem! We have this Europe trip in school and it costs $3,751 I have like $123 only and I have been raking leaves! I really really wanna go to this trip! Cuz its like a really good oppurtunity! Do u have more ideas tht u can give me?

Talk to your parents about what they would be comfortable with you doing (in terms of raising money)--that way you know their boundaries and they can give you ideas as well Smile

mod mod mod mod mod mod When my sisters where my age my parents got them everything. Clothes, make up, hair care products, movie tickets, magazines etc. I don't ask for any of that! i literally don't ask for anything at all. Im the cheapest child ever. So i asked 9 months in advance if i could go on a school trip abroad. Iv been asking very nicely everyday to do and my parents are 100% aware i want to go but they don't care! they say they couldn't afford it but my dad just got a $2,500 lawnmower and an $800 laptop even though we already have 12 computers(literally) Iv never wanted anything more than this trip but "we can't afford it" iv tried getting my own job. Real and babysitter but nobody will hire me! what do i do. Not getting to go is going to make me really sad.

Hey chickadee! Maybe, you could put together some kind of presentation for your parents on why the trip would be good for you. Like, what you would learn and how it would broaden your horizons. And, let them know that you're willing to work for the money by doing chores and anything else they need around the house. Or, you could even offer to have a yard sale and sell some of your old stuff that you don't use or wear anymore, to raise some funds for the trip. Maybe, once they see how serious you are about it, they'll give it a second thought! As for babysitting, maybe try putting flyers in mailboxes of people in your neighborhood that you know have kids. Or, simply knock on their door and tell them flat out what you're trying to earn money for, and let them know you'd love to babysit for them. You could also do odd jobs for your neighbors... like weeding their garden, grocery shopping, etc. As for babysitting, you can always pass the message along to teachers that you like at school too. Let them know that you're looking to earn money for the trip and was hoping to babysit. Ask them if they know of anyone who needs someone, and they could refer them to you. The same will go for your parents co-workers! Smile

MOD***
My class is going to DC next year, and the trip costs over $1500! And my parents are making me make all the money myself! I don't get how that's even possible, in one year. I am 13, I can't get an actual job except for some babysitting and odd jobs and stuff, and that would barely make a few hundred. What should I do? I really want to go! Thanks!

Hey chica! That's a totally tough situation. Ask your parents if you could pay for half of it or take on a certain chore, along with making money from the odd jobs and babysitting on the side, to make up for the lack of cash. See how well you can bargain. Good luck!

MOD MOD MOD!!
I need a job for over the summer. I am only 15 though. I am trying to think of places to get applications or things that i might want to do. I like making bracelets but I don't make any money from it. If you have any ideas let me know. Thanks.

Hey girlie -- why not sell the bracelets you make? Let people know you make and sell jewelry and see where it takes you Smile

You should gather up a group of people, either just friends or other people who care, and meet and make a list of fundraisers. Some examples could be bake sales, sponsership, flea markets (have older students bring in old toys and sell them to little kids that go to your school (if they do) or to a local grade school), auctions (principal buys an item, then students can buy chances for say 50 cents), and much more! Good luck!

Good advice. In a few years I might be going to a event called World youth day. We dont know were it is yet, but this year it is in Spain. It could be in any country in the world...... OGM how do you even plan for that
