Okay, So I think I have a Yeast Infection and I told my Mom about it so she's gonna make me an appointment today with the Gyneocologist. Well this will be my first time going and I'm really scared and Nervous! What are they gonna do? Please Help! Thanks. (:




Hey babe, every girl has those appointments, so don't sweat it. Just tell the doctor if anything he or she does makes you uncomfortable, and they should respect that and stop it. They're just gonna check you out down there, which is awkward but no big deal. There shouldn't be anything that hurts or makes you super uncomfortable.

I'm pretty sure I have a yeast infection because I have this bump down there but my mom says it's an ingrown hair. And it itches and burns sometimes down there. But my mom won't take me to my gyno. HELP?




Hey babe,

If it's an itchy, irritated bump on the outside, mom is probably right on this one - it's either a pimple or an ingrown hair so you should just let it be without touching too much. If it burns or itches inside down there, that's when you have to worry about yeast infections.

Hi my name is ashley and i have not had my period yet but even once in a while i get a little bit itchy down there i always thot it was because of getting like soap down there when i take a shower but i am scared to tell my mom to make sure i dont have a yeast so please answer and i get readness in there like if i pull it open i see not a dark like when you scrath somewere hard and long it turns really red well its not the red its light red and every like 3 or 4 weeks it hurts for a day to go to the bathroom but for a day i am just scared PLEASE RESPOND

so as awkward as this may be... for the past 3 months i have had a very heavy discharge. I t is white and when i wipe it's sticky. It smells really bad and is very smelly so that sometimes when i get up you can smell it. I do not have my period, but it does get itchy down there every now and then, but probably only once everyday. Its not intense, just itchy. I've brought it up and my mom says that its no big deal and i'm overreacting, but i'm still not sure. any ideas?

MOD MOD MOD i have yellow discharge and itching, and wen i told my mom she sed i probly hav a yeast infection and shes taking me to the doctor. but ive nvr gotten my 1st period, so is it possible to hav a yeast infection, also if i do hav one, does that mean the doctor is going to look down there and give me a pelvic exam, and if so, do pelvic exams hurt??? plzz reply quickly, thank u

 

 

Hey girl. If you do get a pelvic exam it shouldn't hurt, but it is more likely the doc will diagnose you based on symptoms. Yes, you could have a yeast infection before you get your period. Good luck!

Hey chica!  You can always ask your doc, but I'm pretty sure that's normal. Everyone's hair is diff obviously, and some people have some on their face or stomach or... other places!  I don't think there's anything wrong with shaving, but you need to remember two things - for one, it's a sensitive area, so you want to use products that work for sensitive skin (like the ones designed for shaving your bikini line).  Also, with shaving the hair grows back pretty quickly, so you'll have to do so regularly.  Waxing, or just leaving it as it is, may be a better bet.  xoxo

MOD MOD MOD I have this itching down there sometimes its even really intense. I also have white discharge. I have no discharge on my period but the itching i have it when im on my period or when im not on my period. Whats going on??




Hey girl,

The itching could just be irritation because of your underwear or something simple like that. But to be sure, check to see if there is a fishy odor or a colored discharge (anything but clear and white/off-white) accompanying it. If the itch sticks around or comes with either of these things, it's best to call your doc and make an appointment just to make sure it isn't a yeast infection!

For the past three days clear to white discharge has is left on my undies making them wet. "Down there" there is white-ish discharge. It's been a week and a half since my period ended and i started seeing this discharge problem three days ago. There isn't any itching just the ocasional iratation.

If you got your first period less than a year ago, it can be a little abnormal and you can get discharge at times other than right before your period.

Yeast infections don't depend on how old you are, so don't worry about that. However, when you are older, you're usually doing more sexual activity than you were when you were younger, which can bring on the yeast infections. That's probably what's going on with your cousin. x0x0

MOD MOD MOD I once thought I and a yeast infection but a doctor confirmed that i didn't. But now there a little bumps down there that look like pimples and its really embarasing. They go away but some leave a scab. And I know for sure it's not an STD. Thanks!

 

 

Hey chica! If you shave down there, the bumps are most likely razor burn, which is totally normal and common. Otherwise, I'd talk to your doc one more time and let them know your symptoms!

Read this article for the usual characteristics of discharge. That article also has some deets on warning signs that aren't normal. And this page describes a lot about the signs of a yeast infection. Trust me - if you have a yeast infection, with itching/burning and a more chunky discharge, you'll probably know!

Hey Brittany,

Just try to remind yourself that your period is normal. You getting your period is normal. You're going to be getting it every month for a long time! Hopefully, remembering these things will calm you down and make it a less embarrassing experience for ya. Every girl goes through it - it's not something they should single you out about, so it's not something you should feel awkward about either!

It doesn't really do too much in terms of stopping the blood. I wouldn't recommend it. Try a tampon if you really want to stop the blood while in the pool.

MODMODMOD I'm not sure what's wrong with me, if anything. 6 out of 7 days of the week my discharge clumps with my hair down there and hardens so i have to pick it out (it hurts) when it doesn't clump it's slimy with yellow tinge but I don't know if the discharge is yellow-ish or that once I finish 'going' I stand up and I feel like I'm leaking P.S. I don't have my period yet GRACIAS!

I think i have a yeast infection too, but i also have theses bumps on the underside of my butt and they burn sometimes. i got my mom to buy this cream that helps relieve irritated and burning and itchy skin. ive only been using it for a couple days and its not really helping a whole lot. what do you think this is and should i schedule an appointment for my doctor???? thanks!




Hey girl,

These could be pimples, ingrown hairs, or just irritation from chafing/sitting down. Since the cream isn't working, stop using it. Personally, I probably would give my doc a call just to see if they have any idea what they could be from. The only way to get rid of them (aside from giving it time and them going away on their own) is to know the cause! A professional opinion can clear this up ASAP Smile
