I feel like all my friends and I do at school is gossip, and I’m sick of it. How can I stop once we head back this fall?

Hey, well my mom got a new job and I'm going to be moving to a new state and I'm in 8th grade. I don't know if I want to start second semester back or just wait till High School starts. Any tips about making friends while starting during the middle of the school year?




Hey girlie,

I'd probably start second semester back so you don't miss too much! You want to stay on track with school no matter what - and plus it'll give you a way to make friends your age ASAP! That'd be a long 6 months or so without friends to hang out with, wouldn't it? If you start in the middle, you'll be the new kid and all eyes will be on you...which is a great thing! You can ask people to help ya out, recommend good clubs to join, show you around town, and help you adjust to your teachers' quirks. Make sure you're out-going and you challenge yourself to say hello to everyone and keep an open mind! You'll do just fine Smile

ok so i have this old friend and she got mad at me cause she died her hair a snowy white ( like mine but im a natural bleach blonde so it looks white) and now she started rumors and gossips about me being a -blank- and all that my bf is being so nice and telling people to back off and if they dont he knows alot they will be getting in more troble, and anyway so now i feel so lonely ( i have 5 friends inclues my bf who are true to me) i wish my brother was home he would know wat to do he always does. But since he is in the miliuatsry and was sent to Japan i cant talk to him, i need help




Try talking to your old friend about why she has been spreading rumors and being so mean. If she won't hear you out or refuses to change her nasty ways, your best bet is to stick with your other friends who are true to you Smile

MOD MOD MOD MOD MOD MOD! Okay so I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm like..being bullied! This girl in my school is spreading rumors about me just because I'm friends with someone else. She's been telling people I'm bipolar (which I'm not), and mean, different, and just stupid ALL because I'm friends with someone she hates. Now me and this mean girl aren't friends at all (we were) and so what do I do? I've already cried like 3 times. OH AND! She tells me she isn't saying she said I was bipolar, she said she's never said that even though this other chick thats friends with both of us is saying that she did say that. I told my parents and they said that this girl sounds dangerous and I should just leave me alone but like..I didn't realise how much things hurt! Then she goes and lies about it and says she's not telling anyone anything! What do I do?! Pleaseeeeeee Help! Becausee this is really making me sad (I had no idea how bad this kind of stuff really gets) XXX, Rainbow

 

Hey girl, your parents are right, you should steer clear of this girl. Don't let her get you down- you have other friends that know the true you, and they shouldn't care about what other people say about you.

Hey girl, I would ignore the teasing. If things get really rough, there's nothing wrong with letting a guidance counselor and teacher know. Bullying is never appropriate.

MOD so i have 2ish groups of friends. One of my groups of friends made a fake facebook page of my other friends with the name that the whole school calls them. My other friends were saying some mean things about my other friends and i really want it to stop because i care about all my friends.And i dont know what to do because im afraid if i tell them how i feel they might be mad but aahhh idk wat i shud doo any suggestions??? Thanks:o)

What your friends are doing is not right, and could be very hurtful to your other friend, so you should definitely speak up. They should realize that what they are doing is very cruel, and you should re-evaluate your friendship with these people. Just think, if someone was being mean to you, would you want your friend to stick up for you? I'm pretty sure that answer would be yes. x0x0

MODERATOR!! (I forgot to put the mod thing before my question and I accidentally posted it. Have to type this again :-P) I'm going into eighth grade this year but I'm planning ahead for high school. I want to go to a fine arts high school so I can explore my creativity more and to see if I want to a music and writing career by having a hands-on experience. The high school my mom wants me to go to only has three fine arts, but the one I want to go to has more than ten. What are the benefits of going to a fine arts high school? How can I persuade my mom? It's also a college preparatory school. Help please?




Hey girlie,

A specialized school like this one will give you a bit of a challenge - it'll be harder, faster-paced, and allow you to really focus on one of your passions that you'd like to pursue for the rest of your life. So make sure you choose it because you love that certain fine art! And be prepared for a more challenging experience than you'd get at your average high school, since it's designed to prepare you better for a top-ranked college. To persuade mom, just try to gather as much info about your school as you can (including teachers, price, classes/curriculum, etc.). Review them and become VERY confident with all the information (and with your reasons behind wanting to attend the school) - that way, if she has any questions, you're prepared to answer them well. I'm sure it'll win her over!

i'm going into 10th grade this year and i was wondering what cute outfit ideas you may have? my school has a very strict dress code like we can't wear shorts or skirts that are too short. i never wore a skirt one day to school in 9th grade and i really want to now.

Since you can't wear short skirts, try wearing a long, flowy floral one. It's a great alternative, and they're so cute! Pair it with a jean jacket to add some extra style. x0x0

We all kind of gossip but it isnt right to just say things to start rumors or talk bad about someone. But there are times when there are legit things to talk about. And when we talk to people we need to talk to people who dont go around saying what we said and making it worse.
