Middle school is turning me into a stress mess!

I started junior high this year, and I find it very overwhelming. I don’t have time for all the things I love—boys, friends, shopping, etc. What can...

I'm going to college next year and none of my friends are going! I'm really worried because I've never really made friends, I've had the same best friends since I was 3! And I have a few other friends through my original friends! Frown
I don't know where to start, loads of people at school think I'm weird and I have NO idea why! I thought I acted pretty much the same as everyone else!! :/ Thanks Mod. xxx

Hey girl,

Going to college is tough for everyone - it takes a lot of adjusting and a lot of pushing yourself out of your comfort zone. But college is ALL what you make of it! You'll have a good time if you open your door, introduce yourself to people, go to campus events (even if you go alone), join clubs, and talk to people in class. You have to be overly out-going during those first couple weeks/months.... everyone else will be too! Really try to push yourself and meet as many people as possible. Don't worry about feeling homesick/feeling like you don't fit in. Everyone feels like that at first, but you WILL find your group <3

And i'm going to middle school next year and i just saw a vid on fb from one of my friends who is in middle school and the i know thta when i go there everyone will think im weird! I just have a feeling? What should i do? Thank you!!

Hey girl, you're never acting weird if you're acting like yourself. Just be true to you. That's something that will help seperate you from all the other girls. You can't help but to be yourself. And if you keep telling yourself and believing that everyone will think you're wierd, people will, but if you think positive you can avoid that. Hope this helop!! Smile Smile

MOD MOD MOD!!!!! Me and my boyfriend broke up a week ago, because we live in different towns and he "didn't feel it anymore." I still REALLY like him and i've been soo depressed and i don't know what to do to forget about him. We dated for 3 1/2 months and it's soooo hard to forget about all the memories we had together. I miss him alot. What can I do to forget him? Frown

Hey chica, aww I'm sorry, but remember everything happens for a reason. Right now it may be best to just get your feelings out. We overcome things when we face them and deal with them. It won't do you any good to keep all your feelings bottled up, so grab a diary or journal and write down your thoughts. Even call up one of your besties and vent. Have a girls night out, where your friends where you guys can forget all about boys. Rent some chick flicks, get blankets, and have snacks and drinks, and just have fun. It may also be good for you to busy your time, so you won't be stuck just thinking about him. So take up a new hobby. You could try sewing, biking, anything. Once you start focusing your time and energy on something else, you won't have any left over to waste on him. Hope this helps you feel better!!! And remember it's his lost! Smile Smile

MOD MOD MOD!
My school concert is coming up but auditions are tomorrow :// I really want to sing a solo but I'm really nervous and because my friends are going up together, I don't want them to think that I'm stealing the limelight. What shall I do? Shall I get over my fear and audition or should I just leave it, I probably will.. Cindy

Hey chica!

You definitely should audition for the solo! If your friends are true friends, they'll totally support you, even if you're competing against them for it - never back down from what you truly want because of what you think someone else will do! Don't be nervous, channel that energy into practicing today so you can ace that audition tomorrow. Good luck chica! xoxox

MOD MOD MOD MOD MOD!!!!
HEY GUYS!! ok so this is super random but i have a science project abstract due tomorrow! (idea, title, procedure...)
and i need a really catchy title. My project is testing if the bacteria on food after five seconds (so its testing the five second rule) has anything to do with type of food and location. It would be amazing if you could just give me some creative names for this project (im realllyyy hoping for a first Laughing) but yeah. Thanks sooooo much Smile

Hey girl, try "Where Did They Come From: The Five Second Rule and the Bacteria It Creates" For a more pun related title, you could always think of alluding to movies about aliens or creatures from another place.

MOD MOD MOD MOD MOD
I'm so stressed out over school and the pressure of being perfect from my parents. If I get a 95 average its not good enough and the only average thats good enough for them is 98 or a 99. Its so hard to get that and my friends are extremely worry that I might snap one day. What do i do? and how do i get a 98 average? I study all the time and i barely hang out with my friends.

Hey chica!

It's important that you talk to someone about how stressed you feel - whether it's your doctor, a teacher, a guidance counselor, or even one of your parents. You also need to tell your parents that you're doing the best you can and that there's nothing else you can do. Make sure to try and strike a balance between school and friends - try doing your homework when you get home from school and then hanging out with your friends on a Friday night. Good luck Smile xoxox

MOD MOD MOD.
I'm in high school now (I'm a ninth grader)and I've already been sick a lot.
It's started to affect my grades.
How do I catch up on missed work and pull my grades up, FAST!?
I want to do a summer program at Cambridge college this summer, and I'm afraid they won't accept me if I don't get good grades.

Hey girlie,

Try talking to your teachers after school in the classes that you're very behind in (or all of them!). They are the ones who will be able to suggest study strategies, where you should spend most of your time catching up, and overall how to get back on track. They're there to help ya, so take advantage of it!

MOD
My school is stressing me out! I just started high school and the gifted program coordinator/guidance counsellor is telling me to do more and more extra-curriculars every day! She told me that if I wanted a scholarship for university I should do all these things, do community service, and get 80% or higher if I want to get into advanced placement. I dance 4.5 hours a week and I just don't know how I'm going to get it all in. Plus, because of all the teams and clubs I miss classes a lot which makes it even harder to stay on top of all the work. What should I do?

You should find things that fit. If meetings are after school for certain groups join those so you dont miss class. Maybe only play sports for one season out of the year. Keep dance. Plus if your school has key club thats a good club to join to get volunteer work. If you pick and choose what you want you can go to class, have activities, be involved, and still get good grades. Good luck! xoxo kerra
