The 3rd dress would go well with satin silver stilettos or pumps, silver chandelier earrings, a silver necklace that dangles and has diamonds, and--for a pop of color--a gold satin clutch with black silk accents. What do u think?

So I really really want to be a catalog model and I'm 12. How do i ask my parents and how do i start? PLEASE HELP! It would mean so much to me because this is my dream!!

Hey girlie,

You have to take a deep breath and express the interest to your parents. Tell them you've been thinking about it for a long time and you're really committed to testing this career path out, so you'd love their help. To become a catalog model, you first have to look the part of a model (eat right, exercise regularly, get lots of sleep, etc.) and act professional. Find out what your measurements are and have someone take headshots/body length photos for you to put in a portfolio. These should be photos in which you're showing off typical clothing types, so agents can see how you would appear in an actual catalog. (Once you get work, these shots can be replaced by actual catalog cut outs!) Then you have to find agents to send these photos to. Try searching with mom and dad for modeling agencies online!

I live in California and I really need a new pair of boots. So far, I've had a pair of cheap old navy boots that were brown and shiny and warm inside, perfect for fall and winter. I'm the sort of girl who typically wears just a different tee everyday with a vest or some type of coat over jeans, and athletic shoes or boots. I need a good pair of boots that aren't over-the-top, flashy, or with heels. They have to also be budget friendly (20 dollars and under is nice) and have to last for both fall and winter and should go with everything. I'm thinking either lace-up-boots or a pair of slouchy boots. What type of boot do you think I should buy?

Since you're in California and likely don't see snow too often (if at all), a pair of slouchy suede boots would be perfect! Go with a neutral color that goes with everything, like black. The best shoe department to scope out for these would def be Target - they have ALL kinds of shoes and boots for affordable prices. $20 and under is a stretch for boots (they always run a lil more expensive), but you can definitely find a pair for around $35 if not lower Smile

Hey Jessie,

Try what I do when I get nervous - take each day as it comes and, once a day, challenge yourself to do something totally outside your comfort zone. Whether it's sitting with new people at lunch, raising your hand in math class even when you're totally scared to speak up, go to a meeting for a new club, say hi to your crush in the hallway, etc. - if you do it, you'll build confidence by proving to yourself that you're capable of tackling even stressful/scary stuff!
