MOD! MOD!
I have no idea what to get my brother. He's into theatrical stuff and break dancing and playing the piano but I don't know what to get him. I'm thinking of making him a book with all the songs he has learned in it. But, I'm still not sure. Last year all I got him was a lousy card that I messed up on. It ripped too and all I did was put tape on it.
HELP?




I like your idea! I feel like a personal present always mean more, and that's a great way to make it personal.

I think I have depression. I feel sad and worthless. I have thoughts of killing myself. I haven't told anyone inculding my parents because I don't think they will believe me. I smile alot to fight back the pain so no one can tell how I feel. I don't know if its just normal things that a teen goes through or not because my friends aren't like this. My parents have knida noticed that I'm not as talkative and they think I have mono. I have headachs and feel "achy" all over. I cry myself to sleep every night. My friends don't invite me over to hang out and I don't know why. They have plans every weekend and I never get invited. And me and my parents fight alot too. Mostly over things like me not helping out enough. If I can't even help myself, how am I spost to help them. Please help me. Thank you so much.

First off, PLEASE don't self-harm or try suicide. I've heard someone describe it this way and I think it's really important to remember: It's a permanent fix for a temporary problem. You don't want to end things forever because you're feeling bad now - it gets better! You need to talk to someone about this, right away. Whether it's your parents, a school counselor, a trusted teacher, a clergy person at church, a coach, whoever - be genuine about it and tell them how much it's been affecting your life. They will believe you if you're sincere about it. Tell them you don't know what to do, but you want to talk about it so you can make things better. Explain how you've been feeling, how you've been losing interest in things you love, and how you feel physically bad because of it. Like you said - you need to help yourself before you can figure your life out. Please, please, please make this a priority! Talk to someone about your feelings ASAP!!! <3 And if your parents don't believe you, don't get discouraged: talk to someone else. We're always here for you if you're feeling down/overwhelmed, plus take a look at this page of resources and tips for people who are feeling like you are. So my crush (ill call him A) and I are really close. We hang out almost everyday after school (hes my neighbor)and on the weekends a lot. A's super cute, funny and athletic. He just moved here over the summer and I think he may like me. one problem, almost every girl in my school likes him. :/ I flirt with him a bit and our mutual guy friend, also in my neighborhood always teases us saying we should go out(my friends ALL think it too) and he'll tease us like "awww you 2 are sitting close together' 'A go help your girlfriendddd' but every time he says that he'll be like 'mhmm.' haha but A never says no when our friend says we should go out. he flirts with me sometimes and we always 'argue.' My friends all say Im really pretty, nice and funny and that I have a great personality. I think everone is pressuring him too much to ask me out. I always catch him looking at me and we laugh at things a lot 2gether.
how can I get him to ask me out?? does he even like me?? THANKS!

Try not to get overwhelmed by that pressure from your friends - it's great they think you should go out, but the only people who matter are you and A! It's awesome that you already talk, hang out, and flirt. Keep it up! Try flirting a little bit more - compliment him, tease him, joke around, tell him you were thinking of him because of ___ (like you saw something on TV that reminded you of him or something), etc. Whatever you're doing now, try to do it a little bit more so you give the hint a little bit more strongly. If he still doesn't get the hint after some time passes, you could work up the courage to tell him. Sometime when you're hanging out one-on-one, let him make a joke or something. Then laugh and say, "Oh, that's why I like you." It's a good subtle way to let him know! See if that works - then maybe, if he likes ya back (which it sounds like could be totally possible!), this will be what gives him the guts to ask ya out! <3

I know this sounds stupiid, but I don't understand the concept of American football. Everyone i know watches football and can't wait till the superbowl. I tried to google it, but i still can't understand all the terms. Please help, thanks.




Hey girl,

It doesn't sound stupid at all! Any sport is kinda mind-boggling when you don't know the rules. But it's really simple when you get down to it Smile Ok, so there are two teams. It starts with a kick off, where one teams kicks the ball to the other team. Then that team is "in possession." They have 4 chances ("downs") to move the ball 10 yards closer to their touchdown zone at the end of the field. If they move it those 10 yards (that's the yellow line you see on the field - they need to cross it), the # of chances they have resets back to 4. So when you see something on the screen that says "2nd and 7," that means they're on their 2nd chance and have 7 yards left to cross. If they don't cross that yellow line after 4 tries, they have to kick the ball to the other team.




They score points when: 1) they move the ball all the way to their touchdown zone and cross the thick white line. They earn 6 points, then have a chance to kick the ball through the goal posts (for one more point) or run the ball back over the touchdown line (for two more points)... and 2) they kick the ball through the goal posts for a field goal, which earns them 3 points.




And when you see a yellow flag thrown onto the field, that means there was a foul. Usually, the ball will get moved back 5 or 10 yards if the team with the ball made the foul. 




I know this sounds crazy and there are even more rules to learn (like what different fouls there are and stuff), but try watching some games and keeping up with the basics. You'll learn the rest once you feel comfy with the basics of the game! <3

I am completely Broke,(literally!) and my parents aren't doing too well financially, so i don't get allowances. I really want to have things to give to my family this christmas, but since i'm broke, i can't buy anything... ideas? i spent the last of my money buying my mom a gift from bath and body, but as for the rest of the family, i'm broke.

Try volunteering to do things around the house! Since you don't have money and they aren't doing well either, they probably wouldn't want you to spend your cash on things they don't need. But they will appreciate you cleaning the garage, doing the dishes for a week or two while they relax, cooking dinner and having it ready when they get home from work, cleaning the toilets (ick I know, but they'll be grateful), raking up leaves, etc. Write a list of things you'll do for them so they can have a relaxing couple of weeks, then give it to them in a homemade Christmas card. They'll totally love it! <3
