My boyfriend got me a beautiful carnation, a type of flower, and it is still blooming. Someone else delivered it to me. I looked across the room and there he was. His face was almost as red as the flower. I felt guilty cause I got him a jumbo pack of m&Ms. But he said it was alright so that I felt really better. After all it was a really a great valentines day!

like this guy named michael. we have developed a really really really strong friendship. we tell each other secrets and he knows everything about me and i know everything about him.. he's got the most amazing blue eyes ♥. well we text about everything and anything. there are no topics that are off limits...religion politcs etc. we have a very good friendship and he told me that hes more real around me than anyone else because some(most) people wont appreciate the stuff he likes. hes very big on science and philosphy. anyway i started to like him in december january-ish. and i wanted to ask him to the eighth grade dance but another girl beat me to it. it broke my heart seeing him and his girlfriend dance. but that was before we developed a very strong friendship. over the summer wed text ALL the time. hed text me, id text him. then i found out he got a girlfriend. amanda. shes a nice girl, dont get me wrong, but it should be ME not her. and she asks me for dating advice ... (Don't worry, I read Part 2 too!)

That is amazing that you're so close to your crush! Having a really good friendship before anything else is so important. First things first: you need to remember that he CHOSE to be with Amanda. She isn't forcing him into anything. It might seem like they don't go well together (or that it should be you instead of her), but the truth is he hasn't broken it off. So he must be happy, or at least want to be in the relationship right now. Try to respect that! I know it's hard to support him while you're feeling so jealous, but it's important that you at least try. Now, about Amanda. If she asks for dating advice, chats about their dates and personal stuff, try telling her you don't think you're the right person to ask about that kind of stuff. Just tell her you are really good friends with him, but you don't know anything more than friendship-level stuff (aka you don't know "secrets" about what he thinks of her). Just say you're not sure you'd give very good advice and she might want to talk to him instead. That way, you don't have to listen to her gush about stuff that hurts you. But remember how you feel right now - once he's single again and over his next breakup, don't sit around and wait! You know how great you work together, how much it hurts when he's with another girl... and what you need to do when he's available again <3

So I have a really good friend, and she's dating this guy and she has been since last May, and he didn't get her anything for Valentines day. His parents don't approve of her, so in his parents eyes they're technically not dating, but anyway, he didn't get her anything, at all. He didn't even write her a note or make her a little card( we all understand that his parents won't let him buy anything for her). He has also been almost avoiding her at school, but everyone knows that he still has feelings for her because he still says that he's dating her against his parents. She's really torn up about him avoiding her and hardly talking to her, but not getting her anything or evening just wishing her a happy valentines day, is just too much. What should she do? What can I tell her?

She needs to talk to him. Him avoiding her at school and not talking to her is not fair. If hes not interested anymore then it needs to be over. He cant string her along. So i would suggest you tell your friend to have a serious conversation with him. xoxo kerra

Okay, so my boyfriend is ALLLLL into PDA and giving me gifts and stuff, but I HATE IT! I've told him that, and he got mad! With tomorrow being Valentine's day, I know he's got all this stuff picked out(he told me) and he's in my 6th period, and it's gonna be soooooooo embarrassing! Should I skip that class? As in, go home? PLEASE HELP ME!

You should not be embarassed of recieving gifts from him. You should be proud to have someone in your life that wants to treat you so well. Trust me, it is going to be hard to find another guy that will be that nice to you. Just accept the gifts and thank him and go on with your day. It is Valentine's Day so your gift to him can be to be a good girlfriend and just openly accept his affection, at least for that day.

This article gives just about all of the wrong advice. It's basically telling you that pretending to appreciate is equal to actually appreciating. It isn't. Not everyone has a boyfriend who would sit there and make a card of go out and buy a necklace. Never mind that, not everyone even has a boyfriend! Why on earth would GL give you advice that just says, "Oh, it's okay to lie to him. Boys don't have feelings. No harm will be done. Just say something completely ridiculous and unbelievable like, 'I'll just save it for special occasions, because I'm too afraid to let people in public know that I'm thankful for gifts and my boyfriend.' Isn't that good?? He'll totally be happy that you practically just blew off the time and effort you put into his gift." Yeah, right. Also I'm just wondering since I'm only 13 and have never had a boyfriend or anything like that: Do teenage girls seriously buy their boyfriend boxers for Valentine's Day. That actually sounds more awkward than thoughtful.

Okay so I have a boyfriend of almost 4 months and obviously valentines day is coming up...I know he is getting me something but idk what. I mentioned something about me getting him something and he said that he didnt want me to buy anything and that it was a Valentine's day tradition that the girl doesnt. I still feel like I should though....I was thinking maybe I could make this card that I saw a tutorial for online where the lettering "I ♥ U" pops up when you open it. Would that be good? And what else should I write on it? or do you think I should still buy something? Thanks xxx

1. do u think it'll be ok if i change our vday date to friday, we're going skating and i dont think the rink is open tuesday.
2. my fam recently had some bank probs and we're kinda on a budget, do u think it'll be fine to go to the dollar store, get him a card, and make some brownies? cause im scared he's gonna get something big for vday and i dont wanna give him just a card so should i make some brownies w/ it.

My long time crush/bgf asked my to be his girlfriend at our semi formal on friday (We're 15). Obviously i said yes <3 umm but now we want to hang out more often, but we need some more date ideas, especially the ones outside of our houses, any ideas?? also valentines day is on tuesday and idk what to do. we will only have been officially together for four days...so should i get him something? what if he doesnt get me anything and i do? what if i get himsomething and he doesnt?? im so new and excited about this u could say im flustered, alot

Aw, congrats! That is SO exciting when a crush becomes your BF It can be weird too though, especially around VDay! It's hard to figure out how to celebrate it and how to act around each other. Try to be casual about it - give him a small box of chocolates and ask him to hang out after school. You shouldn't get him a huge gift or plan a romantic date since you just started dating. Just enjoy each other's company and let him know you're happy to be his GF. That's what matters! As for date ideas, you could do all sorts of things: bowling, movies, rock climbing, ice skating, browsing a book/music store, a concert, french fries at a diner, a museum, video games, hanging out with friends for a sporting event, a picnic, etc. Think about the things you both love and then share them with each other!

He might just not be a texter! Some guys aren't great at writing a whole lot and holding a convo through texts. But since he actually told you to text him, that means he's interested in you (as a friend or a crush) and wouldn't mind talking to you more often. He didn't have to ask you to text him, you know? Try asking him more open-ended questions about himself so he can't just respond with "yes" or "no" ... see how that goes! I'm not sure what that convo about hating him could be about since I don't know your history better, but maybe he heard a rumor...or maybe he just wanted to have an excuse to talk to you and didn't know what else to say. Who knows! Just keep on texting/talking to him in different ways and flirting whenever you can. Get to know him better and see where this goes over time! <3
