Excuse us, Utah, but what's with the anti-sex ed law?

Utah’s state legislature has passed a bill that bans public schools from teaching kids about contraception...

Personally, I think parents should tell their kids about sex but how many parents do?

This is most def.ly the most dumbest thing they can do . If you want to generate more educated people in the society this isnt the way to go ! POINT BLANK

I think that is ridiculous pretending like there isn't a problem wont make it go away. Personally I know waiting till marriage is a little hard especially when you've been with someone for a long time. Yes it is definatly the best thing and should be attempted at all cost but still. I think they need to address the issue and help so there aren't more teen parents.

Everyone, I lived in Utah, the Mormons there are very much against anything before marriage. That subject is one that mothers/fathers should tell their children. Mormons are not allowed to do "it" before marriage, it is a sin to them. Abortions are not allowed except in extremely rare cases for a good reason such as the child would not be able to survive after birth, or would cause the mother harm. The mother would tell the child what is going to happen when they start puberty. I am not a Mormon, but I lived in Utah long enough to know most of their customs.
I say way to go Utah! People should learn from their parents, not their teachers!
Next time everyone, please do some research before saying something ridiculous.

ok this is what i feel! they should teach sex-ed in school, because yes the parents have to teach there kids about it. but most of them DONT! and thats the truth! and yeah its bad to have sex at a young age. but if there going to do it, they should at least now how to protect themself! no matter what anyone says!!!

This is almost as bad as Texas taking out the Civil War/slavery from history textbooks. Yes, facts are facts, and we need to know them! Besides, everyone at my school loves sex ed: we don't have normal classes and all you have to do is sit there and listen! And what middle/high schooler isn't interested? If kids aren't even told about abortion/ birth control pills/ other methods of preventing children, they have a much higher chance of becoming teen moms, which NO ONE WANTS!!! Even later in life, it could affect them, like when they are married, but they don't want another kid? They might never know about birth control!

K. First of all, nobody should be having s e x, safe or not until their married. But now Utah is outlawing teaching the students how bad it is. But, you've got to admit, Utah has a point. At my middle school, the boys always joke about it and be immature. If moms think that it's important enough, just send them somewhere else. They have s e x classes for high schoolers at the library in my town.

First of all, I do not believe that a woman has the "right" or should "have the choice" to kill her baby. (should a criminal have the right to kill someone?)

Also, about your "facts", just because a lot of girls have sex, doesn't mean it's good for them, or that it's right.

And, it may seem like everyone believes in "safe sex" but they don't(some people believe that the only "safe sex" is with your husband/wife, whom you love enough to have sex with at risk of getting sick or pregnant.) PUBLIC SCHOOLS SHOULD NOT IMPOSE BELIEFS ONTO THE CHILDREN AGAINST THE WILL OF THE PARENTS.

Sex-ed should be up to the child's parents, who know the child, and not to a school with a curriculum that they teach everyone.

.
