Yesterday I was talking to this one boy a lot. I thought, 'I made a new friend!' We talked later that night at the band concert. We're both in band. Well he would always like stare at me and sit closer to me. He also talked really loud so that I would look at him. So I got the feeling that he probably thinks that I like him. Which I don't. I just want to be friends. I already found out that I have a crush on 2 people! I don't need a third one. How do I make it clear that I just want to be friends and nothing else?


Hey Gabriella123, make it clear that you want to be friends through the things you say. Try saying things like “You’re such a cool friend” or “I’m glad we’re friends”. When he starts talking loud trying to get you to look at him, don’t. Pretend you’re doing something or don’t hear him. Still be nice to him just be sure you aren’t doing anything that comes off as flirty. Hope this helps! Xoxo

Okay so I just recently started likeing my BGF and I think he might like me too! I only think this because he stares at me A LOT and smile, laughs at my insanely nonhilarious jokes, and has been showing off to me in gym. Do you think he likes me because he's sending me mixed signals by telling his friends he doesn't like me and then acting this way around me! So what do you think?

Hey girl,

If he says he doesn't like you, he might just be acting that way because he thinks it's funny, but he might also be too embarrassed to tell his friends he likes you! If you want to find out for sure, you could always just tell him you like him and see how he responds!

Okay, so yesterday I was at lunch and my BFF dragged me away from out table to tell me something. Her twin brother was having a crummy day and she told him that someone had a crush on him. To cover up for her lie (though someone has gotta have a crush on him), she told him that I knew a person who knew the person who had a crush on him. Now he wants to know! He hasn’t done anything since lunch yesterday (during which he took my lunch, my book, my drink, my cookies, and my binder), but I’m worried he will do it again. Also, I might have a very, VERY, small crush on him… so, yeah. Since she lied about it, I don’t know what to do. Also, he has a ‘girlfriend’. My other friend doesn’t think he really has one since she looks like me. Please help!

If he has a girlfriend, you know he's off limits! Even if he doesn't really have one, if he's saying that he does have one, it probably means he's not ready for a relationship. Next time he's having a bad day, instead of making up that someone has a crush on him, tell your friend to remind him of all the things he's great at, and that whatever he's upset about won't matter in the end!

How do you get back in contact with a guy? We were good friends for most of the year from our common interests and everything, but we didn't talk out of school. Then we got moved in class, and never talk. I have his facebook and some other contact info, but I don't know the difference between being "friendly" and "awkward" to start up the friendship again. I have a tendency of losing guy friends over the summer, and I don't want him to be one of those.

If you want to stay friends, there's no harm in sending an email or facebook message! But if he doesn't respond, wait a few days before you send another message so you don't overwhelm him.

please help me! I was at a dance and I'm in seventh grade and an eighth grader at my school asked me to dance. we danced all night got each others numbers hugged it was amazing! then the next day he texted me saying he didn't like me but that I was really nice and he liked getting to know me... im confused because we just had the best night ever and he didn't even like me?

He might have had fun with you, but then decided he wasn't ready for a relationship, or he might have been being mean. Either way, try to focus on the fun that you had and not worry about anything more than that, and scope out a new cutie to dance with next time! If you want to still be friends with this guy, it sounds like you could get along well. Just remember that he's not looking for a relationship!
