Stop being judgmental about grinding. It's just dancing. So maybe it is a little sexual? Is that so bad? Usually the people doing it are dating. It there anything wrong with that? If you don't like it, then don't do it. If it bothers you then don't watch it or stay home from the dance. Just don't complain about it. What these parents did was just plain insane, by the way. They obviously ruined several peoples evenings. Sure, I think the charges they are facing are fair, but first and foremost they need to apologize to the victims. The parents were wrong here, not the kids.

I personally don't like grinding (um, hello! Too close for comfort!) but Lysol? That sucks! Ugh, I'm sorry to our friends in Colorado

Some grinding can be very crazy, thats why people should only do it at parties or in private. I know its a high school and middle school thing but its kind of embarrassing to be doing it in front of our parents or other adults. Carrie R.

and lysol was wayy too much for something like that. if a chaperone needs to seperate kids from grinding then they should just tell them gently. lysol is painful, and grinding is no big deal. its a high school thing! Carrie R.

i agree with candylynn... you guys are probably all in middle school but in high school its totally normal. grinding is not "bad" or "idiotic" its just a girl and a guy dancing normally but the girl is leaning on the guy. i go to dances all the time and it just happens. i have friends that dont like it and so they just dance otherwise, and they dont have any issues. it also has nothing to do with whether you go to a private or public, religious or not school. its the same everywhere! i go to a girls catholic school, and there are rules about certain kinds of behavior (like ones having to do with...well...touching) and those make sense, but if a chaperone sees you doing it they'll just gently seperate you. its nbd. wait until you get to freshman year, and you wont think its weird! i used to in like, seventh grade but its normal. as long as you dont let the guy move you out of your comfort zone-like if he wants to go farther but you dont-then its nothing to worry about. its fun!

what were the parents doing with Lysol anyway?!?!?!?!?!?!
by iluvpiggles on 6/4/2012 3:51:50 PM
First off, I don't see how grinding is inappropriate. Some girls have commented that grinding is having sex with clothes on. Going by that logic, spooning on a couch would also be having sex with clothes on. But is spooning considered dirty behavior? No, it is a common way to lay with a guy and is not inappropriate. As long as guys' hands aren't venturing too high or too low on a girl, I don't see why it would be a problem. The use of Lysol was completely unnecessary. It was a childish act that could have caused more harm to the students than the dancing. Seriously, they were clothed.

While I agree with the parents that "grinding" is the antithesis of class, there's no need for Lysol. Jeez, adults need to act like adults, not the children they're chaperoning.

Even though the teens probally shouldn't have been grinding you DO NOT ever spray Lysol at them. Instead they should ask and use their words. What were they even doing with Lysol at prom anyway?
