my ex and i had a nasty breakup, but now we're both in happy relationships with other people. a week or two ago i messaged him and said a picture of him and his new gf was adorable and he said thanks and asked how my new bf and i were doing. i also apologized for the things i said when we broke up because i had found some stuff out about his life and i felt really bad. he said he deserved for me to have told him the things i did and he said that twice so i was just like "its okay." he never responded but whatever. when we brokeup we said we wanted to be friends and i really do still want to be friends. but the problem is we never talk, we make eye contact while walking past each other in the halls but thats it.i hate it though because at my 8th grade formal i want to take a pic wih him cu i want to be really good friends but idk how close we are and my bf prob wouldnt like that. i really dont know what to do. any help? thank you so much

That's great that you both could apologize and forgive each other, having that conversation is an important first step! If you want to become friends, try talking to him in person and discussing the options with him to see what he wants, too. Your boyfriend shouldn't mind as long as you tell him that he's the one you want to be with and that you and your ex are just friends!
