Hi. I am short, and I am pear shaped. But I still have a large bust and curvy figure. In the June issue, you guys said that pear girls should not wear skirts or ruffled bottome, here you say that curvey girls should. I'm kind of confused and I dont know which one is better. Lynae P.

@twinkletoes3- maybe try buying separates, u can get a small size on the bottom and a bigger size on top. Or try suits w/ bra/corset tops that have underwire, they will keep the girls in place and have the support u need Smile happy shopping!

So I'm an hour glass, and even though I'm 16 i can't wear bikinis. The thing is, tops are hard to find that because they either swim on my waist, or my breats are spilling out! What kind of one piece or tankini is my best option???

I need help!!!!! My parents don't let me wear bikinis, but I can wear a tankini... I'm really athletic but I'm a ruler:/ Help????




Hey girl,

Try tankinis where the top has a shape to it instead of just straight up and down. Look for stripes or florals to create the illusion of curves if you are a ruler body type. Look for a bottom that has a cute, wide belt. You can also try a patterned v-neck one piece.

I have a spare tire. I was wondering what type of swimsiut I should get and in what colors?? Oh and where should I look? I already tried target, Walmart, old navy, h&m, khols, forever twenty one, and a local swimsuit store.

Apple shaped girls should choose areas of their body to accentuate. Find a dress with a tie or belt in the middle that will cinch your waist to give you more of an hourglass figure.

I'm 14 and going into my freshman year of high school next year. The thing is, I love bikinis, but my parents won't let me wear them!! I'm not self-conscious of my body at all, and I kinda want to show it off a bit. But I am SOOO over the swimsuits that cover my belly, and I think I'm old enough to start wearing bikini tops. I even have a pair of black boy-shorts that I wear swimming that I LOVE, that I just want to pair with a bikini TOP.
Any suggestions for asking my parents to allow me to wear a bikini top?




Hey girl!

Think about all the reasons why you want to wear a bikini. Sit your parents down and calmly explain your reasons. This will show them your maturity and will remind them that you're growing up and changing. Good luck!
