I dated this guy on and off for a little over a year, and when we finally broke up about 5 months ago it was pretty nasty. About a month ago I was finally over it and we were on speaking terms, thankfully (We have a lot of mutual friends, so it was pretty awkward) - well, until he took my little brother aside and told him some pretty awful lies about me. I've stopped speaking to him, but for some reason I can't get him out of my head. I don't like him at all - I just can't get over all the stuff he did to me and also everything we did together. Everything I do somehow reminds me of him and my friends bring him up in every conversation. How can I get over him? I don't like him, I just don't want to think about him anymore!

Thanks for the advice! I might get to know this boy a little better during the class, but it's not a lot of talking to each other. And the class is only 3 weeks long. Is that enough time to get to know a boy? And also, chances are I'm never going to see this boy again. Do you think he's worth it?

Hey girl, I'm happy to help! Three weeks is definitely long enough for you to determine if he's worth it or not. Your goal for this first week should be to watch him and figure out if he's a nice guy. If he is, try to start a convo next week. By the end of the camp, your goal should be to talk to him enough that it's not awkward for you to ask him to hang out. Or at least get his cell number. If he lives close by, you can make it work, even if you don't go to the same school.

I really, really like my bgf. All my friends and even his friends say that we would be a cute couple and that he likes me. I have liked him for almost a year and he used to know I liked him but I don't think he does anymore. Hey girl, it could be that your guy just likes flirting with you for fun, or he could be into you. The easiest way to find out is to ask him to do something that's more like a date than just hanging out at your house. See if he's interested in going out to dinner or getting ice cream, just the two of you. If you make it clear that you still like him, maybe you'll find out that he likes you, too.

But if you wanna go for a one-on-one convo with him, see if you can end up next to him as you're entering or leaving the classroom. Then just comment on what you learned that day, or even start off with, "Hey, I haven't seen you around here before. Where do you go to school?"

I honestly don't know if he does or not. Sometimes teasing can mean that they do, but it can also mean that they don't at all in different circumstances. The fact that he doesn't text you make worries me a bit, and makes me think he might not. My boyfriend and i act like more friends than we are going out. I have a dance tomorrow, and he hasn't even asked me to it. We have been going out for a month and we are in 8th grade. I think you need to seriously think about all the reasons why you don't want to be with him anymore. When you have that figured out, you need to tell him in person (not over text or phone call). He will probably be really upset at first, but tell him that you hope you can be friends in the future. Don't expect him to be totally cool with being friends right away. He needs time to get over you.
