I think what you need to do is push yourself to be better (since that's what your goal has been) without trying to push yourself to be someone else. In other words, be a better YOU - don't turn yourself into something you're not. Before you make a choice, ask yourself seriously - do I like this? Is this something that expresses who I am? Even though it might scare me/make me nervous, am I comfortable with this? There's a difference between challenging yourself to be more outgoing and turning yourself into a whole new person. So every step of the way - your clothes, your music tastes, your friends, your hobbies - ask yourself if you actually like it, or you just want people to SEE that you like it. And if you remind yourself to question everything, you'll be more likely to make choices that reflect who you are. Also, don't be afraid to change - growing up is full of changes and switches in personality. And that's ok, as long as you're not forcing them or modeling yourself after someone else. You gotta be you!
