There is this guy Jackson in my musical theater class. i really like him but, i am not COMPLETLY sure he likes me back,so I'm really afraid to ask him out. We have tons of stuff in common. For both of us theater is our LIFE. he text me all the time also. Yesterday my BFF Izzy ( without me knowing) wrote Jackson a note asking if he liked me. his written response was '' No....maybe.....a little''. WHAT DOES THAT MEAN!?!? I would appreciate it if you answered . thanks! ~ confused

I was at a school dance last night and I was slow dancing with my crush and I realized I had no idea what to say! I felt really awkward cuz we were just dancing and not saying anything. I don't want dances to be awkward like that! How can I start a conversation next time and make it not as awkward?

So theres this guy that I really like. He's always finding some way to talk to me and he looks satisfied when he makes me laugh. Last year i had a crush and he did the same thing and then it turned out he liked my now ex-BFF. Last year, I was convinced that the other boy really liked me. Am i just getting myself setup for disappointment and getting in over my head like last time? God, i really need help because the school dance is coming up and i dont want to get excited about him possibly asking me like last time. Do you think he likes me? Should i be happy and let myself be excited?

  

Hey skiwi2, he could like you especially since he's over your ex-bff. Don't look at it as being let down if he doesn't like you. Instead look at this as an opportunity to make a new friend. And who knows maybe he has some friends to hook you up with. Hope this helps! Xoxo

so there's this guy i like. i asked him out, but he said no (actually, he yelled no, and made a face like he was in a dead fish factory). but that was in front of his friends, and i have a (big) feeling that if it was in private, then he would've said yes. anyways, when he said no, i got so nervous and embarrassed that i said i was just kidding. if i ask him to dance at the semi-formal, what's the probability he'll say no?

How can you tell the difference between when a guy likes you and wants to have you as a friend as opposed to actually LIKING you?? I just really want to be able to tell the difference because I'm to shy to ask him myself.

 

Hey girlie, usually you can tell from his body language. If he's just interested in being friends with you, he'll treat you more like one of the guys. If he like likes you, he'll make extra attention to you, want to spend time with you and sometimes touch you when he's talking to you. Try flirting with him by touching his arm and making contact the next time you're talking to him and see how he reacts.

So yesterday was my school's big homecoming football game versus an all-guys school. This guy that I kind of like goes there, so we were texting each other about whose school would win. My friends that were sitting with me said that my face would just light up every time my phone buzzed. The thing is, he goes to a different school than me and I have absolutely NO free time EVER. Maybe an hour or two on the weekends after water polo. He is also a sophmore and I am a freshman. We went to middle school together and are camp counselors together every summer for a week. But that week is really the only time I get to see him. But my real question is: how do I get him to ask me to homecoming? His school doesn't have one, but mine does. We don't talk all that often and there is NO WAY I could ever gain the courage to ask him myself! Any advice? Thanks!

If it's at your school, it sounds like you should ask him since he would be your guest! It's intimidating, but if you already know each other and are friends, it shouldn't be too awkward! If you already get along, he would probably want to go, at least as friends. If that doesn't work out, even if you don't go to the same school you can still talk to each other and get to know each other as friends while you're at different schools.

MOD This guy I like asked for my number and we've been texting. I've been liking him really really much and he's been sending signs of liking me like hanging out with me and talking a lot. But he just asked me if he should go out with my best friend! I don't want him to but I also don't wanna tell him I like him...PLEASE HELP!!!!

Hey girl,

That's a tricky one, but there's not really a subtle way to tell him no without telling him you like him. I would ask your friend how she feels, though, or tell him to ask her himself, because you shouldn't speak for her about whether she'll go out with him if you don't know how she feels about him!

I'm having major boy probs. In 6th grade, he was a new student. He was unpopular at first, but I had a huge crush on him, and some of my friends teased me that he was my boyfriend. We emailed everyday after school and he gave me a bracelet. My best friend (at the time) also liked him, and was friends with him. My bff and I went on a trip, and when we got back, she ditched me. In 7th grade, he was more popular, and we just lost our connection. However, I still had a huge crush on him, and was heartbroken when he asked someone popular out. She dumped him a day later. This year, we are in 8th grade and I STILL like him. My friends told me to just let go, but it's hard. Everyone tells me that I'm really pretty, and even though I have a low self-esteem, I believe it. I am more popular this year, but at the dances he just ignores me, though my friends and I saw him looking at me after a slow dance. I would think that he liked me, but today he asked another girl out! HELP!

Hey girl,

If he's going out with another girl, you can't do anything while they're together. But if you do want to regain your friendship, there's nothing wrong with that! Tell him you miss talking and want to be friends again. If it doesn't work out with the other girl, you could ask him to dance at the next dance and see what happens!

When the football team at my school has a game, they always wear their jerseys to school that day. sometimes girls wear the guys' other jersey (depending on where the game is). homecoming is this Friday and i would like to wear a jersey, though i have declined before. there's this boy, Trysten. I see him in German I and thats it. Sometimes i talk to him and he'll respond but it's not eagerly i don't think. it's not that he hates me, but he's never had experience with girls i don't think. he's never had a girl wear his jersey. anyways i can ask him? i see him before German I but he's with his two friends, which i am friends with too. is it okay if i pull him away for a sec, or would that be too obvi and possibly embarrassing? thanks!

So I like a boy. He's two grades above me (I'm in year 6 and he's year eight) But he's really only a year and a half older than I am. My friends have never met him but they INSIST he's too old for me. My "best friend" thinks he's ugly (She's only seen his facebook). I told them that if they met him they'd realize he's really lovely. He's funny, smart, kind and REALLY strong. Their words really don't help my anxiety disorder. What do I do?

 

Hey girlie, don't worry about what your friends think. Right now you're not even dating or seeing each other, so it's just a crush. And if you're friends don't approve of your crush it's not the end of the world. Don't talk about him as much and let things cool down for now until they meet him and see that he's a really great guy.

Hey girl,

If you already know him, that's good! If you're not sure if he likes you back, though, there's no need to rush into anything, so why not keep being friends with him for now and see how he acts around you to see if he likes you? If you do decide to tell him, it may be awkward at first but your friendship should be strong enough that things will go back to normal eventually!

Okay So I Like This Boy.Let's call Him Ben.So Ben & I have 1st period together,Civics.We had to do a group project to read chapter 1 and answer some questions.The whole time he was staring and smiling and flirting with me.And when my friends read paragraphs he kept looking at the book.But,when I read the paragraph my friend told me he was looking at me.In 2nd period when I was gonnna get up from my seat to throw out my pencil sharpenings he took it and said "I'll Do It." We get along very well and always have good convos when hanging with friends.Do you think he likes me.

 

Hey! Maybe, but there's no way to know just from these signs. I think intuition is the best way to know without actually asking him. If you get vibes from him that he likes you, he probably does, even if he won't admit it Smile

This guy is sooo confusing! He flirts a lot with me and I have caught him looking at me. I flirt back and that is not the problem the problem is he goes and asks other girls out. Girls who give him so much drama and one is trying to use him for the attention. I guess what I am asking is why does he make me think he is definitely crushin' on me and then go ask all these other girls out?!

 

 

Hey! I think it's because some guys don't really think about crushes the way many girls do. Guys don't really see it as a series of steps toward a goal like ok first crush then talk about it then start a relationship. They can act a lot more scattered about it like just because they like someone doesn't mean they can't also like other people,  so I think that might be what's going on here

I have 1, 2, and 6 down I don't think he has a gf either soo that marks off 3! I sit next to this boy in honors English class. He and I share hating the annoying teacher...so he's always muttering things that suck in our class and stuff so we talk like every day. He's really sweet, smart, and funny and has these gorgeous blue eyes (I LOVE blue eyes)! He runs cross country and that's all I know about him really. We don't talk very much outside of class--but his locker is about three down from mine. The only time we've talked outside of class was when he congratulated me on being elected class senate. How do I get him to ask me to the fall dance? I just want to go as friends--but like a date. I do not want to ask him because it's a guys ask girls dance (the one in feb is girls ask guys). The dance is on Oct. 28 so I have time...but guys go all out at my school to ask a girl (posters on lockers, treats, ect.) so what do I do? We're freshman.

 

Hey! drop hints that you want to go and see how he reacts. You can tell if he's planning to ask you that way. But you know, there's nothing wrong with being direct and asking him to go. That's the only way to get a definite answer if he doesn't ask you first. good luck!

MOD MOD MOD. I'm in serious need of your guy advice. I'm trying to talk to more guys, but I am so awkward! I was talking to this guy in math who is kinda popular about school pix and I'm like "Did you get a good pic?" he's like "No, it's terrible." and I say "Aw, yeah, me too, my collarbone is like popping out in mine." WHAT PERSON SAYS THAT? I'm so awkward it's actually a little funny! I never know what to say to guys in general for some reason (I can never think of things we have in common and I don't wanna seem strange or anything but saying something weird - ex. my collarbone..) and I want to talk to them! I want guy friends, too! What do I do to become less awkward around them in general and what can I say to the guy in my math class? I don't like him like that, but he sits next to me and seems nice and like a good friend. And the guy in front of me is popularish and is hilarious, so i wanna talk to both of them! About what though? We don't have common things to talk about! Help!!

 

Hey girl, I totes know what you mean.  I used to feel so awkward talking to guys - so much that I would pretty much avoid it.  But I worked through it, and now I have tons of guy friends.  How do you do it?  Practice, practice, practice!  Talk to any guys - the one in your math class is a great example.  Even if you don't like him, it's still good experience.  You have one thing in common for sure:  school.  Talk about last night's killer math assignment, school events, or plans for the weekend.  And it's okay to be awkward!  Sometimes, it's even a good thing, because it makes you seem real.  If you feel like you made an awkward comment, just laugh it off or make a joke about it.  And remember that you might feel more awkward than you actually seem.  Good luck, and have fun with it!   xoxo

I'm a freshman and this guy is in 8th grade. we had a thing last May but it ended in about 2 days right as school ended and i was pretty crushed, but i got over it. he's talking to me again and in texts he says he likes these 2 girls in his grade but wants stuff with me not them. i told him I'm not really into that yet and he still is like "how far would you go?" i just wanna tell him to back off, but i just can't/won't. any tips/advice how to shake this? he won't date me and right now thats probably good, i don't think i wanna date him. i would just ignore him, but after football season is over, he'll ride the bus all the time (me too).also, ladies, if you have any advice, you can comment on my advice queen page or my profile to tell me what to do. thanks MODS and girls!

 

Hey chica, It sounds like you have already made a positive choice about what you're ready for.  Now, you could ignore him, but it sounds like that'll be difficult since you'll start seeing him again.  I think you should be clear with him and say you're not looking for the same things that he is, but that you guys can still be cool with each other - things don't have to get weird.  Don't let past feelings cloud your good judgement.  Good luck!! xoxo
