I don't see how you couldn't like the album! I love her fun, funky, R&B pop style and vibes. She's so different and cool. You shouldn't hate a song after just one listen. You don't enjoy it as much as the ones on the radio because you're not accustomed to them. I love City Lights and Blonde the most. The radio wore out Ready or Not. Go Bridgit! Go mendies!

Honestly, I listened to this album and expected to really hate it. "Ready Or Not" was catchy when it first came out, and I expected the rest of the album to be a repeat of the same thing. But I was glad I was totally wrong. The album includes some really soulful vocals and great R&B-esque beats from someone who came out of the Disney Channel vault. I'm seventeen. I should hate anything from DC, right? That's not necessarily true at all. This album exceeded my expectations immensely. True, the lyrics are quite simpleton (i.e. "You'll be my William, I'll be your Kate"), but Mendler's demographic is the tween age. She's selling something completely marketable, and it works. I'm certainly sold.

I honestly don't believe every song is as great as GL is describing. Of course they'd give her high praise, she's their cover girl! A few songs are probably pretty good, like her single above, but in reality, I bet this sounds similar to every teen-targeted album out there. The topics of Most of these songs sound original, but also completely stupid. Like being blond and fall? It sounds like what i would've written about at age 5. GL never ever writes anything but stellar reviews for anything and everything. Get real, GL, not everything is fabulous all the time. It's okay to give a mediocre or bad review once in while, those sound more real and are sometimes better to read! It's not interesting to hear that everything is great. I'm also sick of GL trying to sound cool by saying things like "cray-cray" and "totes". They sound really lame and poser-y. I feel like I'm getting too old for this magazine. Maybe it's time to switch. These are just my opinions though, I wish Bridget good luck.
