I don't have any friends and I'm lonely. In the past I've had close friends, but never a best friend, and now it seems like I have no one at all. I lost a lot of friends when I went to high school (it was really hard to keep in touch) but I only made 2 new friends. (I'm in 10th grade) My 2 friends at school and I used to hang out all together with this other girl (who I've been friends with for a really long time) but the she has been really rude to me for a while so I don't want to be friends with her anymore. It's almost impossible to talk to them at school without her being there and we're usually busy on the weekends. I feel awkward talking about the situation with them because they're still friends with her. Also I only talk to 1 girl from middle school. She says she misses me but she is on her phone the whole time we hang out. I have one other friend from camp but she never calls or texts me so I feel like she doesn't want to talk anymore. What should I do?

Hey girlie,

A lot of people feel the way you do, so don't be so hard on yourself! If your friend has been rude to you lately, maybe you could try talking to her about it (without being too confrontational). She might not realize she was hurting your feelings! If she blows you off when you bring it up, though, you might be right to find some new pals. And for your other friend, it's okay to tell her that it hurts your feelings that she's on the phone when you're together! I'm sure she would be happy to put it away while you hang out. You could also introduce yourself to some girls in your classes and study together to get to know them, or talk to some new girls at lunch. Or join a club and meet people who like the same things you do! I'm sure there are plenty of people who would love to be your friend

What do you do when your friend has a party or a sleepover and says its only for her bffs and then talks about it after and before and NEVER invites you???????

Hey girl, if your friend isn't respectful of your feelings, then you should spend less time with that person and more time with friends who don't make you feel left out. It's totes unfair to you to have to listen to party-chatter if you're not invited to the parties. If you can, change the topic when this girl talks about those events, and if that doesn't work, go find a different bud to hang out with. Good luck!

So one of my BFFs has a crush on this guy (let's call him A.). She is actually starting to really like him. But I recently learned that he is dating another girl (let's call her C.) and my BFF doesn't know!! Also to add to all this while walking home I heard one of A.'s friends saying he was having a party. Someone asked if he was inviting A. and C. and he said that if he did that they would just kiss. Then someone else said that he should just invite C. But he replied that if he did C. And another guy J. Would kiss!! Do I tell my BFF? What should I do???

If he's dating someone, you need to tell your friend ASAP! Even if it seems like he likes her, getting involved when a guy has a girlfriend is a huge no-no. (How would your friend feel if she was the one he was dating, and he kissed someone else?) Encourage her to stay just friends with him, at least for now, and to scope out some cute and available guys at your school.

Hey girlie, talk to a school counselor or her parents. She'll probably be mad at you at first, but eventually she'll understand that you wanted to help her and make her better. You can't do anything on your own, but you can talk to someone who can help her.

Okay.So I have 2 best friends, Molly and Kate. Well this girl was in ALL our classes, and at first she never talked to us but one day she started to sit beside us. She knew Kate when they were in elementary school, and I'm in 7th and I've only known her for half of fifth grade, sixth, and seventh. Now in Music Appreciations and lunch, she always sits between me and my friends.. and Kate let her. She's leaving me out of every conversation. I talked to Molly about it and she said she agreed and said she didn't really like the girl... but Kate really likes her I think she is trying to steal Kate as our bffs.. and in Science connections we sit right beside eachother but there are connected tables.. and she asks me for money EVERY day and asks to copy my work and asks me to put her folder up. I tried to talk to her and be friends with her... but shes trying to take advantage of that... HELP!! PLZZZZZZZZZ
Oh and I asked Kate about it and all she said was that she knew her longer... :'(

HELP HELP HELP!
I am having friend troubles. I lost my two bestest friends ever and not to mention another friend in 4 DAYS. They all texted me saying that they didn't want to be my friend anymore. But the one girl, let's say her name is "Mary" is really mean. She was part of the reason mt 2 friends don't like me anymore and she texts me telling me she hates me all the time, stares at me meanly, and put a comment on her instagram saying "how does it feel getting kicked out of your own table?". She KICKED ME OUT of our lunch table! She said if I sat there she would take my 2 best friends (or so i thought) and move. I now sit at another table but I need some help! Advice?

My best friend is becoming best friends with another girl. I don't have a problem with this other girl, but she always leaves me out of stuff. For example, this weekend, she invited all of my friends to the movies, except me. She also tells my secrets, and makes fun of me. Like if I'm talking to a boy, she comes up and says, "Ooo, you have a crush on him!" I really am trying to be friends with her ( I even invited her to my huge sleepovers! ) but she never comes. I really don't want to lose my best friend, but I don't want to freeze out the other girl. What can I do?

Hey girl,

That sounds like a tough situation! If she's telling people who you like, maybe you should leave out your secrets when you're trying to be friends with her. If you've tried to be nice and it doesn't seem to be working, maybe you could sit down with her and have a calm conversation where you tell her that some of the things she does hurt your feelings, even if she doesn't mean to. Hopefully you can work something out--she might not realize that her actions are hurting you!

Okay, so in April I want to audition for my high schools advanced drama by then I will have all the required classes for it too. I get extremely nervous when public speaking but acting makes me confident. But, I've wanted this for so long and I really want to get in although it is a long shot. For the audition I must perform a monologue, be interviewed by the current members, and perform a skit with someone else performing. How will I get over my nerves and seem confident, but not over confident.

It's totally normal to be nervous, especially before a big audition! Try focusing on how happy acting makes you feel and not on the crowd, and think about how much you love acting and pretend you're alone and that people aren't watching you. Good luck!!
