i am 12 yrs old,5'2", and i weigh 130 pounds. am i overweight? im pretty sure i am . i have been exervising alot more and trying to eat healthy but nothing is working. i have had weight problems since i was about 7. do u have and workouts that burn fat quickly and easily? and do u have any eating tips? sorry this is so long. thanks in advance!


Hey girl, no not at all! Just keep eating healthy and working out when you can! Try to run atleast once a day. If not every other day. Helps a lot!

i dance for like an hour a day go 70 crunches and 40 sit ups and 15 push ups its been to weeks and i hav not lost anything!!! why??

i like squat jumps and v-ups Smile
@bunniesrock14 you should try squat jumps or killers. for squat jumps: squat down, then jump as high as you can. land back down in a squat. I suggest trying 10 at a time. For killers, get down on one knee, jump as high as you can and then land, switching your knees. Try to land gently on your foot and then lower yourself down so that your knee just touches the ground. Try 7 on each leg (count to 14). Your legs will be fit in no time. Smile

im 14 and i want to get fit for 2013. the top part of me is really skinny but almost all of my fat is in my legs, and I REAlLY want to tone them for spring/summer. but, the problem is I cannot run, like, at all. after only 5 minutes I get really winded and i get side stitches and i hate running. I also cant seem to stay motivated. any suggestions?

Hey girl,

If you don't like running, find a form of exercise that you do like so you will want to do it! Try biking for awesome leg muscles or using the elliptical or a stationary bike. Check out our workout page for more ideas!

I'm 12 years old and wants to lose weight but I HATE exercise. Its really hard to do when your dealing with the daily pressure of your mom about losing weight. My clothes don't fit me any more and my mom wont buy me anything but sweatpants or plus sized clothes if I don't lose weight. I love skinny jeans and I have two weeks to lose weight in order to fit into some of them. What are some healthy eating tips? Can I accomplish this goal? How can I deal with so much pressure? Please help!!


hey girl! I'm so sorry you're 12 years old and under so much pressure to lose weight. At 12, your body is still developing. Just make sure you remain healthy throughout this process. First, try to lessen the amount of processed foods you eat. Try and eat most fresh fruit, vegetables, lean protein like chicken and fish, and whole grains. Make sure your mom supports these efforts and buys you healthy and fresh foods. And if you dont lose weight, keep your chin up. Its more about your health than the number on the scale. xoxo

I am having trouble! I know it may be winter but I want to go swimming.. and If i do go swimming.... I'm gonna need a new swimsuit. The problem is is that I would love it if I was allowed to wear a bikini. How do I convince her?

Hey girl, maybe if you bought your own bikini it would be easier to convince her. The great thing about exercising is you can, wherever you like! I'd suggest starting at home, and when its easier go out to exercise at a gym.

1. How can i get in to working out? I just never feel motivated to do anything. I cant go to the gym or anything because it is too expensive.
2. I really want to tone up my abs, butt, thighs and calves. What are good ways to do this?


Hey girl, honestly you just have to force yourself. Take a run with a friend around the neighborhood, or just do some sit ups before you fall asleep. Running tones everything believe it or not. Running, sit ups, lunges are great!

Its too cold outside for that. We have a winter storm warning right now and
Wind! Up to 40mph!!! What can i do inside for cardio? I dont have any machines or steps.
Also, how can i get rid if belly fat specifically. The health and fittness page is too hard



Hey Chica, try some mountain climbers. put your hands on the ground and then bring up one foot towards your hand, alternate feet and go as fast as if you were running. Then try burpees, do a push up and jump straight up 10x in a row. Star jumps are fun too. Croush like your a frog and jump up throwing your arms and legs out. Maybe shout, "I'm a star!"
