MOD MOD MOD So my interact club (a community service club run by the rotary club in my town) is having a dance. the only problem is that it is a nearby city. my mom didn't want to drive me out there so she said i had to get a ride. So my friend and i got a ride with her older brother who is 18, doesn't drink, doesn't do drugs, and is legal to drive minors in the state of California. My mom was fine with this until i got home today and she totally changed her mind. I was looking forward to spending a night away from my family. My dad got laid off a few months ago and my mom is always nagging at me. i get good grades and participate in a lot of community stuff. I don't see a reason why i cant ride with them. Now i am stuck with my mom who wants to chaperone the dance! I don't know what to say to my mom to change her mind. I was looking forward to getting away for a few hours.




Hey girlie. I would just let your mom know that, even though you appreciate her wanting to get involved and be at the dance with you, you were really, really hoping for a night with just your friends. Maybe compromise a bit - see if maybe she'd be okay with driving you and your friends (if she's worried about safety), but not being at the dance itself. That way she can at least feel involved in the night. Good luck!

Instead of the Harlem Shake, try doing The Wobble. But don't attempt if you're afraid of making a fool of yourself or think you might look totally silly. You will look ridiculous, but it is so much fun, and make sure to always, always, ALWAYS do it with a group of your close buds.
