How to start a super awkward conversation with your parents

“There’s a bully at school.” “Things are getting serious with my boyfriend.” “I’m having trouble with my period.” These are all topics we dread bringing...

I'm 13 and I just started dating my first boyfriend about 2 months ago, but my parents don't know I have a boyfriend and they'd freak if they found out. They're also against mixed relationships and I'm white and he's black. I don't know if I should tell them or not about him because I really like him and I'm worried they'd make me break up with him. I really don't know what I should do.

Well I am 12 years old and just recently got a boyfriend. He is so sweet and things are starting to get stronger and stronger. But the rule in my house is you cant date till you're 15! I want to tell my mom about it but I just know she is gonna tell my dad. But I don't want him to know about it. I trust my mom but she does it all the time. Help!

Hey girlie, you can't blame your mom for talking to your dad because they are a team and make decisions together! If they will find out eventually, it might be better to be honest with them now so they aren't more upset later. Maybe you can make a deal with them, like that you could hang out with him in a group or he could have dinner with your fam so your parents could get to know him.

Hey GL.
I'm having problems with my parents. They just don't seem to understand me. Whenever I try and say something that I want my mum takes it to a whole other level. She makes her self out to be the victim and that makes my dad go to her side. They call me rude and disobedient when I am trying to explain something to the. She's getting really emotional and they don't let me have my freedom. And I'm 16! I don't know how to go about it. Please help me. Thanks.

People tell me im pretty, but I have a hard time believing them. Sometimes I even think they are lying, because I know people lie about that kind of stuff sometimes. I'm sure that I'm pretty to some people, just not to myself. Is there any way I can raise my self esteem and feel prettier?

Hey girlie! It's all about doing things that make you feel pretty, which is different for different people, so experiment. Try putting on makeup, or dancing, or playing sports, and see what makes you feel the best. A ton of people feel self-conscious, and it can be hard to accept yourself for who you are. Best of luck! xx

In health were getting these family activity worksheets for homework and we have to do them with our parents and get them signed...but they are all super awkward and my mom takes hem very serious but I just want her to sign it so I can leave but she won't until we talk about it but I don't want to what should I do?

Hey juliacar, maybe give her short answers, so she will get the point. Maybe even explaining how uncomfortable you are to her, will help. If you do that she may stop making you have awkward conversations in the future. Hope this helps! Xoxo Smile
