Valentine's Day date ideas that are ~actually~ fun

Picture this: Valentine's Day is coming up, and you can't wait to share it with that special someone in your life. There's just one problem...you have no idea how to celebrate. Luckily, we've got you covered with some fabulously un-boring date ideas. Let this be your guide to an unforgettable V-Day with bae.

Sunset picnic

What's more romantic than a sunset picnic? Live out your movie moment with this dreamy date. Better yet, it's super easy to plan! All you have to do is decide what's on the menu and where you'll watch the sunset. Will you pick up dinner from their fave restaurant, or will you two whip up some snacks together? Is the beach *perfect* for some Insta-worthy sunset views, or will the park where you had your first date be a better spot? Whatever you choose, this will be a simple yet sweet way to celebrate the day.

Ice skating

You can never go wrong with an ice skating date. Whether you're basic beginners or practically pros, you'll have a great time either way. Even if you're a little clumsy, that makes for the perfect excuse to hold your crush's hand as you skate along together. So bundle up in your cutest coat, lace up those skates and get ready to hit the rink. Just don't forget to warm up with some hot chocolate afterward.

Get crafty

If you and your cutie are more on the creative side, this Valentine's Day date is your chance to let your inner artist shine through. Check out your local pottery store or painting studio and make some masterpieces for each other. You could also go the DIY route—grab any art supplies you need and have a paint date at your house instead.

Storybook romance

Sharing book recs with each other is *such* an underrated love language—just ask Rory and Jess from Gilmore Girls. So, why not try a bookstore date this V-Day? There are tons of fun ways to browse the shelves with your S.O.! You can take magazine quizzes together, pick out your dream destinations in the travel section and of course, show off your five-star reads. It's also a great date to learn more about each other—you can tell a lot about a person by what kind of books they like, tbh. And top it all off with a trip to your fave coffee shop.

Movie night

Okay, we know it's a little cliche, but it's cozy, it's cute—what's not to love about a movie night? Pop some popcorn, pick out some comfy clothes and put on the rom-com of your choice for an effortlessly adorable date. Or, if you're heading out to the movie theater together, opt for an earlier showing. That will leave plenty of time for the classic Valentine's Day dinner—or even one of the other dates on this list!
