5 signs you're being too clingy

Has your guy been distant? Don’t try to overcompensate his distance with your obsession! Here are 5 signs you are being too clingy in your relationship.

Are you texting him too much? Look back at your over the phone chats. Do you always start and finish the conversation? Has he stopped responding completely? If you have answered yes to any of these questions, chances are you are being a little too clingy.

Relationship repair: Take a breather for a while. You don’t want him to feel suffocated and like he always has to be talking to you. Wait for him to start a convo the next time you text. Texting your BF can be fun, but just make sure you don’t overdo it!

Are you freaked that he doesn’t have plans with you tonight? Relax! He’s probably just hanging out with his buddies. Just like you like your GNOs, he likes his guys’ night. One of the top killers of relationships is not giving him enough space. You want your guy to spend time with you, but you also want him to have friends.

Relationship repair: Try suggesting he have a guys’ night one day. He will appreciate the space and you will have some time to yourself, too. It will make the next time you see each other a lot more exciting.

Are you way too much in his personal space? Holding hands, occasional hugs, and arms around each other are all acceptable public displays of affection. However, you don’t want to cross that “ok PDA” line and enter the clingy and creepy area. Yikes!

Relationship repair: He may not feel totally comfortable with you kissing him or sitting on his lap in public. If you keep the romantic stuff for when you are on a private date, it will save you both from uncomfortable moments.

Are you getting jealous too easily? Once that green-eyed monster creeps in it’s really difficult to get it out. If you tell him you’re the only girl he can talk to, you are definitely being too clingy!

Relationship repair: Get to the root of what’s really bothering you. If he is flirting with another girl, say something. Otherwise, if it’s just a friendly chat, remind yourself that he is allowed to have girl friends, just like you are allowed to have guy friends.

Are you imposing on his family and friends? If they initiate conversations, you don’t want to be rude. However, there is a big difference between an occasional chat and being on the phone 24/7 with all the people he is close to.

Relationship repair: Take a step back or two. Sure, he loves that you get along with his family. But try to spend time with your own family and friends to give him a greater sense of space.
