Awkward! I told my crush that I liked him. Now what?

 

I have liked my best guy friend for a while and I recently told him, but he doesn't like me like that. Now I feel awkward and embarrassed, and I was wondering if there was any way to get him to change his mind.
Dear Awkward,
Life is long and things may change between you two. For now, a realistic goal is not to getting him to ask you out, but getting your friendship back on track. Keep being the fun, smart, interested, interesting person you are and power through this awkward phase. As for romance, he knows the door is open, but you can't force feelings. Hmmm, is there anyone else you like?
