CRUSHES

The real secret to locking down your crush

That "I've-got-a-crush feeling" is unlike anything else. It's exciting, a tad scary and unpredictable. Sometimes, though, it can cause you to change yourself for someone else. You'll laugh at jokes that aren't funny, try flirtier hairstyles and dress to impress him rather than for yourself. While these changes are fairly harmless, if you find yourself doing any of the below to lock down a guy, it may be time to take a step back.

You cancel plans with your BFF
You haven’t spent some quality time with your bestie in weeks and when you finally do nail down a date to hang, you find yourself canceling on her last minute to chill with your crush. Doing this will not only be a major disappointment to your bestie, you'll be missing out on quality time with the girl you share practically everything with. Instead, find an alternative time to hang with him. If he likes you enough, he will understand and ask if there are other times you're available. No crush is important enough to ditch your best babe over.

You get upset when he doesn't respond right away
You've been texting back and forth with your crush all day when, out of nowhere, he takes a full 20 minutes to respond to you. Your brain starts churning out crazy reasons why he isn’t texting back and by the time he does, you're more than freaked.  It's normal to question why someone would suddenly drop off in the middle of a chat, but it's nothing to be overly concerned about. It's possible he's watching a movie, fell asleep or is playing frisbee with his buds. No need to stress about it–simply wait patiently.

You're *too* concerned with his interests
Chances are if you never liked to play video games before you met your crush, you won't like doing so now either. And just because your crush doesn't like to shop online or watch sappy love stories, doesn't mean the two of you wouldn't work. Neither of you should drop your interests to make one another happy. Stick to what you love. If it's meant to be, you and your crush will find common ground somewhere.

You overthink your every move
If you find yourself unable to concentrate whenever he's near, take a deep breath. That's a completely normal reaction to have, babe, but if you want to be more than friends it's best to clear your mind and just go with the flow. Overthinking your every move or word will make things more uncomfortable for both of you.

If you do find yourself slipping into any of these these actions, take a step back. The secret to landing your crush is no secret at all: just be yourself. He will never know how great you are if you don't show him the real you.
