How can I get my crush to see I've matured?
There's this guy who I like a lot. As far as I've heard, he has a pretty sour opinion of me. I guess he didn't like me when I was younger in like fourth grade. Now that I'm mature, I need to know how to start with a clean slate. I'm trying to be more grown up, but he doesn't seem to notice. How do I change this relationship?
A lot of boys have a tendency of holding on to the past even if things have totally changed. As frustrating as it may be, sometimes we gals have to take the initiative and show them that we're not the same ol' pesky fourth grader that we used to be.
Let Your Confidence Shine
You love your personality, and now it's time that he does too. If he catches you nervously looking for his approval after you crack a joke, he'll think that you are unsure of yourself. If you act like you don't need his praise, he'll think you are less focused on winning him over and more focused on being yourself. Guys can't resist a girl with loads of confidence.
Start Up Some Small Talk
By now, he's probably soo sick of the everyday "why don't you like me?" It's time to stop acting like his opinion is the only one that matters. Instead of bothering him with the go-to "can't we be friends?", strike up some normal conversation. Find out his hobbies, fave sports teams, and ask him about tonight's math homework. When he realizes you care about him as a person, he'll be more open to chatting with you.
Organize a Group Hangout Sesh
He probably remembers you as the chick that wouldn't stop pushing his buttons at all the elementary school b-day bashes. It's time to show him that you're all grown up. You no longer have the desire to tap him on the shoulder and run away, or pull his chair out from under him. Now you're more into having real convos and watching funny flicks. Invite some friends over to watch a DVD and show him that you've mellowed out, and can be fun without being immature. When he sees the real you, he'll def want to let go of his grudge.
