The Real Deal: Why bad boys act so bad

The guys at my school act all bad and like troublemakers. Do they do that for attention?

His Answer: “Yep, definitely all for attention,” says Tucker D., 16. “They want girls to see them as daring and a bad kid, and they want their friends to see their wild behavior and be intimidated.”

Decoded: Basically, it’s usually a put-on for attention from no one in particular. Usually a guy’s desire to be the bad boy goes so deep that he doesn’t even realize why he does it.

Your Move: Just how bad are these bad boys? If their behavior is so bad that it’s going to get them or someone else hurt, definitely tell a teacher. Otherwise, just ignore it. If the guys at your school see that their antics don’t grab your attention, they’ll alter their behavior. Take notice to the thoughtful guys, and treat the troublemakers like they’re not even there. They’ll get the hint soon enough.
