CRUSHES

Advice

All my friend's crushes like me! What should I do?

All my friend's crushes like me! Every time my friend has a crush on a guy, he ends up liking me. We have had crushes on the same guys before, but she is getting fed up with her crushes falling for me. How can I help her understand that I'm not leading them on? I try not to flirt with them, but I don't want to be mean!
Hey girl, the fact you care more about your friend more than her crushes makes you an awesome friend. It seems as though your friend may be a little jealous, which, honestly happens to even the best of us. While you can’t change how the boys feel about you, you can help your friend feel better about the situation.
Flirty vs. friendly
Pay close attention to your behavior when you’re around your friend’s crushes. It’s possible you may be flirting with them and you don’t even know it. Do you catch yourself batting your lashes or flipping your hair when they talk you? Nearly every girl enjoys attention from guys and you’re no exception. But as far as you’re concerned your friend’s crushes are strictly off limits.
Tone it down
Next time you notice yourself about to playfully punch your friend’s crush in the arm, resist the urge. You may not think you’re flirting, but your friend and her crush definitely will. You can be nice to the guys, but if you think they’re flirting with you, redirect the conversation toward something safe, like homework, sports or…better yet, your friend. Tell your friend’s crush what a catch she is and she’ll love you forever.
Talk to your friend
It’s important for your friend to understand you’re not trying to steal her crushes. You could say, “I don’t know exactly how you feel, but I want to let you know I would never do anything to hurt your feelings on purpose.” Hopefully, she’ll realize you’re not making her crushes fall for you. Maybe you can even give her some tips on how to be more flirty and outgoing. Good luck, girly!
