Signs he wants to be more than friends

You and your best guy friend have been buds for as long as you can remember. When your besties ask if anything else is going on between the two of you, you always laugh it off and tell them you love him like a brother. But how do you know when he wants to be more than just a friend? Look for these signs to see if he’s thinking about taking your relationship to the next level:

1. Everyone thinks you’re perfect for each other.

Your besties know you better than anyone else, so if they sense some chemistry, they’re probably right. And if people who you barely even know mistake you for a couple, then you’re def sending off relationship vibes.

2. You have a million inside jokes.

He loves sharing things with only you, kinda like a secret club (a.k.a he *trusts* you). He shares your sense of humor and always wants to make you laugh.

3. He doesn’t like to talk about girls with you.

If he never wants to discuss his crushes, it’s because he’s crushing on y-o-u. When you ask him about his latest love interests, he always makes excuses like, “I’m just waiting for the perfect girl.” Hint: he’s talking about you, girl.

4. He always texts you back.

He wants you to know that he really cares about your conversations and never wants to leave you hanging. Plus, he loves talking to you. If he’s really into you, he’ll try to keep the convo going for as long as possible.

5. His hugs always last just a little bit longer than you expect.

When you guys were younger, you used to do the awkward side hug to avoid cooties, but now he hugs you and holds on. If his hugs feel more heartfelt and like he’s never quite ready to let go, it’s because he doesn’t want to.

6. He pays attention.

It’s like he remembers everything you’ve ever said to him. He’s up-to-date on all your friendship drama. He even knows all your favorite foods, movies and books, and remembers the stories you’ve told him, plus all the secrets you’ve shared. You know you can trust him with anything.

Does this sound like one of your guy friends? Have you ever ended up dating a guy who was once "just a friend"?
