How to manage a massive homecoming group

Homecoming should be tons of fun, right? Right! But sometimes having a massive (or even a little) group of friends going together can get stressful, especially if you're the one running the show. Tackle the event with these tips to ensure everything will go *flawlessly*!

Be reasonable when it comes to cost. This rule is super important! How much something costs shouldn't force someone to leave your HoCo gang. If everyone can afford fine dining, that's great, but if having a nice dinner at your house seems more reasonable for your friends, consider going that route. You should be respectful of everyone's situation.

Listen to everyone's opinons. Maybe you're really excited to take Pinterest inspired pictures with your bae and besties, and you even found the perf place for it! But if all of your friends wanted to snap shots somewhere else, be sure to listen to what they have to say.

Be upfront with your group. Communication is key! If you're struggling to map out rides, let them know. If you booked a dinner reservation, tell them! Try starting a GroupMe or a Snapchat group. It's important that everyone's on the same page. It'll make it easier in the long run.

Share the responsibility. If it's too much for you to handle, don't be afraid to ask for help. Someone else would probably love to help you work through the details of your plans. Even if you're totally on top of it all, see if anyone else wanted to help with the planning anyway. Splitting up the roles won't take away from anything you've done, and it'll make your homies happy.

Stick to the important things... Clearly, the dance is on a certain date, and you'd like to be there for the bulk of the time so try to stick to your schedule. And if your group is splitting the cost of the limo, be sure that everyone pays.

...and let the little things go. Did you accidentlly order a blue boutonniere instead of a red one? Is your date five minutes late? Just take a deep breath and realize that it's all going to be OK. No matter how hard you try you can't control everything, so let the little stuff go. You'll thank yourself later.

Minimize the *drama* (if you can). Do two of your best friends hate each other? Sit them at different ends of the table. Did one of your girls decide to go with a different group? Don't fret. You'll still see them at the dance and can take all the pics that you want together there. Everyone's excited and stressed, so it's natural for emotions to go, well, a little crazy. But try to minimize the drama where you can. It's just not worth it.

Don't forget about your date. With all the running around planning what your group will be doing, don't let your date slip your mind. Your boo is there for you, and you should be there for him or her. Smile, take pictures, sit together and cherish your time with them. It'll be so much more fun that way. After all, you're going to homecoming so that you can spend time with them!

Don't let a school dance ruin a friendship. Unfortunately, some students take HoCo a little too seriously. If you get into a fight with someone during homecoming season, talk to them afterward and really make an effort. Don't let something small like a missed text or accidentally matching shoes ruin a solid bond.

Have fun with it! The entire point of going to a dance in a group is to spend time together and have fun. Make memories. Laugh. Live in the moment. And don't hold back!
